Day Out With The Birthday Boy

Woke up quite late today and called up my friend confirming our lunch appointment today. Drove over to Ken's house while waiting for Aldred to come over. Initial plan was to have our brunch at some dim sum shop at Desa Petaling but ended up at The Ming Room at BSC but the place was packed. Encountered a funny scenario again, let me recollect the scene.

Women: Do you have a table for 3?
Waitress: Yes, outside the corridor.
Women: WHAT?? (mad and surprised) We're paying premiums here for the food and service and you want us to sit at the corridor. You thought we're having lunch at some Kopitiam is it? (while looking at the gentleman next to him).

We had the same thought but we didn't speak it out loud like she did. But customer had their right to speak out their piece of mind, so I can't blame her entirely. Try our luck at the new Grand Imperial Restaurant. And it's too were full. Who said economy was slumping? So at the end we settled down at La Bodega. It was a good lunch while we catch up with each other. Did some window shopping before heading back to Ken's house.

On the way home, we stop by a stall selling roasted duck and bought half a duck. I guess the duck is the gift for Ken this year. lol~! Damn syiok~! I know it's fattening and very poisonous but it's so juicy and good. Finished off and went home to rest. But my head got better of me and I am on a 24 drama marathon for 5 hours. Skipped dinner again. Hopefully I can still wake up tomorrow for gym.

La Bodega @ BSC

This is my first visit to La Bodega at Bangsar. My last visit was 5 years ago at Changkat Bkt. Bintang. What I remembered from my last visit was their Paella or Spanish rice. It was a Saturday afternoon and we were supposed to have our dim sum at The Ming Room but it was fully booked and so is the new Grand Imperial. So we ended up here.

Ordered Earl Grey for myself and black coffee for my friend.

I can't find myself pasta with Cabonara sauce so settled in with Linguini Alfredo. I think it's close enough to try out their pasta for me. It's served with turkey ham & mushroom. A bit too sweet for me, strangely. Creamy and just alright. Nothing much to brag about. Small portion for RM18 where as RM24 for a large.

This is the Paella Valenciana Mixta or Spanish rice cooked with prawns, chicken, mussels and clams in a paella with saffron, peppers and peas. Basically it's like seafood mix with Spanish rice. The dish is minimum for two person per serving. And it takes 30mins to be serve. So don't order this if you're really hungry or in a hurry. It's a bit too watery for me and taste wise it's something fresh and new for the taste bud. RM30/person

The whole session wasn't that bad and it's a nice place to laid back and relax with friends. Food is moderate but justifiable I guess. Service is prompt and nice. One thing I don't really comfortable with was their utensils. It's a bit old and there were stains here and there. A bit disgusted when I saw the spade for the rice. I think it's better if someone tell them this as not just the quality of the food is important but the medium which they served it in too is important. (Rating: 3.5 out of 5.0)

KL One Day Trip Pt.2

This is so like Deja Vu for me. The reason is that I am going down to Sg. Wang again today. This time around was to accompany her cousin to shop. So as a good BF that I am (hehehe!!), drove down to Klang early morning to pick them up and went over Pyramid for lunch with my ex colleague.

Finished lunch and headed down to Sg.Wang and shopped for 4 hours before heading back to Klang as they need to get prepare to head up Genting Highland. I can't join them this time around as I was totally exhausted from these two days activities. Not enough sleep and too much driving for me. But all for a good cause. Hopefully I'll get a good night sleep and sufficient rest tonight after skipping gym. Tomorrow is another series of appointments with my friends again. Who say holiday was supposed to be relaxing and soothing? My whole week was filled with travelling and outing which I am not complaining but it's already Friday and 2 more days to rest before starting work. I need more rest.

KL One Day Trip

I had promised my friend for a day in KL with some of the best food through out the day. So we started the day with dim sum at Damansara Utama. Food was good and we left for KL around 10am. Reached Sg. Wang and had a walk from Sg. Wang to Pavilion and back. What a long walk we had. Drove to Kuchai for Tian Hong char siew but they haven't started operation yet. So drove to Happy Garden for Kum Kee char siew but they too are not open. Who said that the economy is not good?

I am determine to find a good place to makan for my friend. So decided to try my luck at Jalan 17 for Tua Huat's Loh Mee but they too are closed~! Head ache~!! Finally decided to go makan at Seksyen 17's Thai Fried Rice. This is one of the best Thai fried rice I had. I had been eating here for close to 7 years. Went over Digital Mall to get some stuff before heading back home. Suddenly remembered that I was supposed to have yoga class tonight at Summit.

So quickly changed and drove over to joined Jean's yoga class. Surprisingly it was almost full. Finished the class and roamed around Summit as usual waiting or Master T's class. Jam class was canceled at the last minute so we started a bit early with some new members. So we did some low impact tracks. Finished off the class and have a long chat with Master T and Jac before heading to Taipan for minum session. Got home and I was damn tired but managed to watched a few episodes of 24 before calling it a day at 3am.

Restaurant Jin Xuang Hong Kong - 2nd Visit

This is not my second or third visit but much more. This time around, it was a Thursday morning with my friend who got back from Taiwan. Wanted to bring him around town and feasting on some of the nice food he saw in my blog.

This is a new dish which they just made not too long ago. It wasn't in the menu before. Shanghai Siew Loong Bao. The outer layer just a bit thick but still alright. The most important was the soup inside, which was just normal. Can have a try if you're eating over there.

This is the Cheese Baked Scallop with Prawns. Not a bad dish at all. But make sure that it's freshly steamed from the kitchen before you eat. As cold cheese with scallop doesn't really taste good at all.

This is the steamed prawns with mixed green. Outer layer is a bit too hard and thick. Too dry and sticky. Only means one thing, not fresh.

This is also a new dish which is the boneless chicken & mushroom wrapped in bean curd. Well just imagine the boneless chicken you eat with Loh Mai Kai and now it's just with bean curd. Not bad at all.

Some fried prawn dish which we normally eat with mayo. Nothing special but just wanna share it with my readers.

It was morning and the place was already packed but luckily I secured a table while walking over. So I do not need to queue up and take a number waiting for a table like the rest of the people. Lucky~! MBPJ came over half way and issued some summon on the premises (but I think it's settled later, if you know what I mean). This place is getting popular by the day due to the fresh food and variety of the dim sums. Price isn't that expensive too.

Restaurant Ong Kee

So this is my first try over this place at Ipoh town during my CNY escapade. There were actually another famous restaurant (Lou Wong) which is just next to this but it was full so we just try our luck on this one. The place is called Ong Kee Restaurant. As usual, they sell bean sprout with steamed chicken served in both kuet teow soup or rice.

The bean sprout was crunchy and juicy but the size is smaller than it used to be. I remembered the size of the bean sprout if way bigger than this. The size here is around the same as the one in KL for me. But other than that, I have no comment on it.

We had waited so long for this main dish to come. We practically chased the lady boss for our chicken that day. And when finally the dish arrived, I just took one shot of it and dig in. Fresh and soft. That is what I think. I think all Ipoh's chicken or bean sprout are added with pepper on top. I like the touch of the simple pepper as it add a bit of spice to it.

The restaurant was really packed and we're actually really pissed with the service at that point. As we had finished off our bean sprout and still waiting for the chicken. Other than that it was a alright. How much does it cost? I'm not if we really did paid. Since we called for the lady boss so long and no one layan us. I think one of my babe's aunt paid. Or I hope they did. As I was running towards my car as they are setting up the night market at the place I was parking. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)

CNY Cameron Highland Roundezvous

Woke up on the second day of CNY and drove back to KL to pick up my babe. But not before visiting one of my friend's house and getting some red packets. Took my close to 3 hours to reach Banting town around 8pm to arrive. Had late dinner and before the end of the night, got myself into my babe's family trip up Cameron Highlands. OMG, what had I got myself into now.

So the next day, all of us had breakfast before starting our journey up North. Had a stop in Tapah R&R while waiting for the rest of the convoy (4 cars). I used the old road whereas the rest used the new one entering from Simpang Pulai. As I thought, I was the first to make it up the hill. Waited for the rest to arrived and checked into our hotel. Damn this is one hell of a good hotel that we found last night online. It's called Titiwangsa Hotel. RM400 nett for one family suite. It had two separate rooms with living rooms with two queen size bed and one single. 3 bathrooms and 2 TVs. And it's only 15m walk from Brinchang town. Sweet~!

So the rest of the day was filled with hopping around from one place to another looking for souvenirs and fresh vegetables. At the end of the day, we had our steamboat in house and walk to the night market at Brichang town before finishing up the end of the night with Karaoke session in the hotel. Yes, you heard me right, it's karaoke session for all of us. Damn havoc with the kids shouting and all but it was really a nice day. Tiring but enjoyable day.

Woke up the next day (Wednesday) and had our breakfast and checking out of the hotel. Before checking out, they decided to gamble a bit in the room. Well what is CNY without some little bit of gambling right? I just watched as usual as I don't gamble that much. Finished everything and off we go to the rest of the stalls and shops for last minute shopping and all.

This is one of the farm which we went to which grows Sai Yong Choy. Nothing special but since we're from the city and never really did went to the farm before, it's a new thing for me. lol~! Managed to got down the hill around 6pm and decided to go Ipoh for some Kuey Teow soup. OMG~! And we're rushing for dinner at Banting later on. So off we go to Ipoh for some local food.

It was quite jam at the restaurant with a lot of visitors from out of town. But managed to get a place and finished off our meal there. Started our journey around 7pm and finally managed to reach Klang at 10.30pm. There were a lot of cars on the highway that night. Jam for a while and rain in between the journey. Had some stop but luckily her aunt was a good driver and we managed to swift pass through all the cars safely. Rest early (3am) as I got some appointments lining for me few hours later. And here we go again~!

Chinese New Year Updates

The night before CNY was all sleep and eat for me. Honestly, for me CNY is a long resting holiday for me to unwind. No phone calls and no gyms. My mind and body can really rest 100%. And when I say rest I do mean fully resting. My usual routine for these two days are the same. Wake up early morning and take my breakfast then continued with my sleep. Wake up around noon to take my lunch and watch some show on the idiot box before heading to the sack again. I think you can imagine how the routine go from here.

Us Hokkien are quite particular with the night before CNY as we need to do prayers to welcome the God of Fortune. But it's been raining for the whole day over here. It's still raining at 11pm but luckily it stopped 30mins before midnight. Burn a lot of incense and praying papers. Fire crackers are getting less by the years. Finished up the ritual and head back to sleep.

Finally it's the 1st day of CNY. Woke up and greet my grandparents and relatives. Well actually I got most of the ang pow the day before or even on the first day I arrived. lol~!!! We got no pantang one la~!! Took my breakfast and watch some shows before heading back to sleep. Yes, it's Zzzzzz time again. Woke up when I received a call from Moses. Came over to pick me up and we went over to another friend house for a visit. Had some drinks and catching up on each other.

Drove back to KL around 5.20pm and reaches Gombak toll within an hour. Yes, that was really fast. But I can go faster if there wasn't some stupid crawl at Karak. But there were some stupid jam at Kepong Metropark. Sigh~! Managed to reached Banting around 7.30pm and had dinner with Romiko's family and relatives. Decided to go Cameron the next day with them (long story laa!!) so head back to babe's house and call it a night. Long day with lots of drinking session. Sigh~! Luckily I am not driving tomorrow. Cameron .... here I go again!!

Smooth Drive Back Home

It was my initial plan to start my journey at 8am this morning but I managed to get my ass off my bed up early so decided to make an early start. Packed my stuff and drove over to picked up my cousin. Had breakfast and hang around for a while before starting my journey. It was around 9am when I left Old Klang Road but it was quite a smooth drive all the way to Gombak Toll. I had used the new DUKE highway from Jalan Pahang. Damn smooth and it's FOC.

There were a quite a number of cars at the toll plaza but since I used a smart tag, it's not a problem. There's a lot of cars along the way up till Bentong but it's not that bad as I can still go 110km/hr. After Karak highway, it was all smooth driving back. Reached Mentakab around 10.30am. Not bad at all considering it's Saturday and all. I heard that there were a long crawl from Slim River, hope those using North South is not stuck in the jam that bad this morning. Drive safe and Drive Smart~! Signing off my my hometown Mentakab. 2 more days before CNY~! Woo Hoo!

Last Day Of Work before CNY

Entered my office as usual and made myself a hot cup of Pu Er (tea bags courtesy of Tenji). While sipping the hot tea, doing my SOP (i.e reading online news, update blog, FB and checking my mails etc etc), my staff told me a really shocking good news. Final payment for my order had been banked in fully, hence the good news. The shocking part was, we haven't even send anything to the customer which was in Labuan. And trust me the amount is not little. Damn this company if filthy rich. This is really a good news to me on the last day of work.

Later my manager instructed us (sales person) to update our forecast for the next month. We were all rushing and deciding which projection to put in. As we can't simply put any projection in and later just take it out. We need to answer to the top management on the status and what happened to the order and so on. Managed to find some 'potential' orders and the rest is history. Look at the time, it's already half pass twelves. Went over Tropicana City for lunch with my colleague.

Tonight is gonna be the last day of gym for me till after CNY. And hopefully I'll be able to join the class on next Friday. Lots of travelling to do and dinners to attend from friends and relatives. Hopefully I can control a bit of my in take this CNY or I am so gonna go hardcore on the classes after CNY. lol~!

Before signing off, just wanna wish all my readers

Pre-CNY Escapade

I was off with my ex-colleague to an escapade in KL the whole day. Part of our pre-CNY last minute shopping cum gathering each year. It was 15 after 5 when we leave KL center but managed to be back at Sunway in less than 30 mins. But I was a bit late for Jean's class but still managed to squeezed in around 6pm. It was a power yoga class last night. Very nice with a lot of turning and twisting which I can't do much on my knees and ankle. Sigh~!

Walk around Summit trying to find any good bargain and received a call from someone. Chatted for 20mins and settled her question. Continued with Master T's class after that. He was early today. Rare~! haha!! Bro you gained some weights. And now it's time to sheds those excess weights off for you. Class was moderate with LP and MD with me. BQ was late so didn't managed to join the class. But we still had our usual minum session with QQ joining us. Called it a night around midnight and felt very good as I didn't took anything again that night. haha~! A Long Night @ SS2

Got a dinner appointment with my friend last night at SS2. It was the same time again last night for me every year. Queuing up in front of Bee Cheng Hiang (BCH) for their bakkwa (barbecued meat). The queue was moderate compared to last year. Maybe economy not that good this year?? Since the queue was very long decided to take our dinner first.

Went to Wai Sik Kai and ordered Char Kuey Teow which was just so so. The size of the popiah we ordered was so pathetically small. And they still charging me with RM1.60/roll. But the worst got to be the fried oyster with egg. Whole lot of eggs and flour. Oysters are those tiny small ones which even a 2 years old could swallow and felt nothing of it. Is the quality of food really that bad now days? And they are still charging me RM11 for that plate of so-called fried oyster. They should called it Fried egg with oyster rather than the other way around.

Went to Kiew's Brothers (KB) as my friend preferred their brand. No much people queuing and they were starting to close their shop around 10 that time. People come and go quite fast as all their products are pre-pack. Initially I thought of buying mine from here but since there's not much queue so I don't have the interest to get it here. I'm those people who like to fight for what I wanted and in this case queuing up for the bakkwa. But since no one was queueing up, I lost my interest in it.

Went back to BCH and the queue was still long but was moving quite fast. Jot down our orders and while waiting for our turn, tried out some of their chilly bakkwa. Price over here at BCH is higher compared to KB. But it's freshly barbecued at the back and pack in front of you. And that is what I call FRESH. Got myself two pack of minced pork meat, chicken floss and one pack of golden coin pork meat for myself to munch while driving back this Saturday. haha~! Look at the time and it's already 11pm. Time to call it a night and drove back happily with my BCH bakkwa while passing a stall by the road selling Loong Kei Bakkwa with no customer. Sad sight~!

Restaurant Dynasty Dragon Seafood

Saw this new restaurant while I'm making my way down after gym at Summit and decided to have a peek at their pre-CNY dinner promo. They are having a promo now for RM398++ per table. So suggested to the gang and here we are last night celebrating MD's birthday cum pre-CNY dinner Loh Sang.

The restaurant is located at closer to the Fitness First or office block side. If you know Black Canyon or Subway then you should know where it's located. It's formerly San Fransisco steakhouse. Interior was new and clean. Most of the big table were fully book that night so we couldn't get a bigger table.

We started the night with Yee Sang with Abalone. Yes, those white color strips you saw on top was abalone strips. Weird as they don't gave us those crispy crackers thingy. One thing for sure, it's made fresh and not those which came in packets. Anyway, we managed to clean the plate as we're all very hungry at that time.

Second dish was the Braised Shark Fin with Crab Meat. It's not that starchy but too salty for us. Some of us added a lot of vinegar to the soup and it was so salty. Even before adding anything it's already quite salty. Maybe they accidentally added soya sauce rather then vinegar to the dish before serving?

This is the Roasted Suckling Pig with Salted Soft Shell Crab. Suckling pig was not that fresh as it's a bit cold but still alright. The soft shell crab was really nice. Crunchy and fresh. The dish come with some buns at the side to go with the suckling pig.

This is the Steamed double Promfret with Soya Sauce. The lady was so nice to cut it for us and even de-bone the fish. Not that salty and meat was just nice to eat. But still can improve on the sauce though.

This is the Baked Sea Prawns in Coconut. I think I preferred it's served in butter cream or oat. Anyway, as long as it's crispy and fresh. And this dish really are fresh. We can peel off the shell with ease and the crispy shell does add some point to the dish.

Braised H.K Seasonal Vegetable with Dried Scallop. Well it's actually baby siew pak choy with small minced scallop. For me, I don't really like this dish that much. But someone's poison could be someone else honey. Portion was quite generous on this dish.

This is the Fried Rice with preserved Meat in H.K style. Someone said Loh Mai Kai. And the waitress straight away said it's not. We all had a burst after that. Surprisingly it's really nice. Not that hard and dry. Come with the lap cheong and meat which added some taste to the whole rice. Finished the whole plate up within two round.

Last but not least the dessert which is the Sweet Aloe Vera with Sea Coconut. Sorry no picture as we're all sipping in the drink and before I know it, it's already finished. Yes, it's what you will expect from a big restaurant. Service was good as they kept changing our plates most of the time or after each dish. No extra charges for outside drinks as we bought two bottle of red wine.

Now a bad place for a small family dinner or company dinner. But not that sure of the price of their ala-carte dishes. Maybe someone can try it out and let me know. They are now running promo on their dim sum which is 20% or 30% less. Nothing special I guess, rather go Ah Yat with 50% less on their dim sum anytime. Paid the bill with the additional price for the Chinese tea and also tit bits.

Essentials Office Skills

I received one of those normal forwarded mail from my ex-colleague and decided to share with all my readers. I think it's quite true in a funny kind of way. Not sure if you did this intentionally or saw someone from your office did this but one thing for sure, it's ESSENTIAL.

And last but not least, don't show this to your boss or let him see it on your monitor by MISTAKE. lol~! Cheer up cause it's just 3 days till CNY.

One Week Till CNY

It was the first day of the last week at work before CNY. But meeting was lengthy as usual. Finished the meeting and went for lunch at this place at SS2 with the whole company staff. Vegetarian place called Big Bowl. All the food are served in big bowl but the portion was just moderate. Ordered the Japanese Pan Mee but was already hungry after 2 hours. Darn it~!

Was about to leave the office at 6.00 when my colleague asked for an early dinner. Should be able to make it to class if I finished up early and leave at 6.30pm. I calculated everything except the stupid jam outside my office and the unexpected rain. So the whole LDP was jam. F*ck~! Managed to join the class while doing the upper body warm up. I think Master C really can't see anyone or anything behind the class. LOL~! Continued with K-Bear class and luckily it was the 4th week and you know what that means, no new release. Did most of her favorite tracks. Biceps were a killer. Finished the class get some advice from K-Bear for my squats and back tracks. I know I am getting better cause got FOC PT session. haha~!

Body Pump 69 Sizzler

BODYPUMP® 69 is a strong, intense release that you’re going to learn fast and have fun with! The music is pumping with awesome tracks from Fall Out Boy, Pink and Rihanna, motivating you to really challenge yourself – and your class. The squats track is tough but, as the song suggests, it really gets the party started! There are three blocks of work and in each block the legs are pre-fatigued with bottom halves before the singles.

The chest track is short, simple and hard. Fall Out Boy’s rocking track I Don’t Care provides the momentum needed to get through more killer bottom halves before you start the good, honest, back work in track 4. It’s a classic track with three sets of identical work.

Pink’s huge hit So What ensures the biceps track is oozing attitude – this song is definitely the fun peak of this release! It’s another short, intense track but you’ll feel the burn in the bottom halves. There’s a new move in the lunges track – the three quarters squat. Coming up threequarters of the way in the squats means the load is kept on the leg muscles and boy, does it hurt!

And there’s no relenting of the pain in the massive shoulders track which features two supersets. You do three exercises back-to-back to challenge the shoulders in a slightly different way. Don’t be fooled with the cool feel of Kid Rock’s All Summer Long in the abdominals track as there’s a strong core challenge ahead, before you catch your breath and cool down to the smooth sounds of Let Me Be Myself by 3 Doors Down.

And here are the complete track list for the new release:-

01. Better In Time - Jamie Knight
02. Get This Party Started - Dan Winter
03. I Don’t Care - Fall Out Boy
04. Castles In The Sky - Liz Kay
05. Shut Up & Drive - Rihanna
06. So What - Pink
07. Stand Alone - Dyce
08. All I Ever Wanted - Basshunter
09. All Summer Long - Kid Rock
10. Let Me Be Myself - 3 Doors Down

Body Combat 39 Sizzler

Picture yourself fighting one-on-one in the cage – Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) style – and that’s BODYCOMBAT™ 39. You’re going to learn the skills you need to hang on until the last round so get ready for some combo-heavy tracks and lots of repetition.

To get a taste of an authentic UFC you’re going to need to get warmer faster as ultimate fighters are among some of the fittest athletes in the world. So that’s what the Warmup is all about, with a focus on keeping light on your feet.

Get ready for one of the longest combos ever seen in a Power Training Track in Track 3 – can you believe there are 16 Punches in a row? The power for the huge combo comes from the core of your body and motivation from rocking track Come With Me.

Two different types of energy are needed in Track 4. The Knee Combo is fun and light but you’ve gotta be tough during the Back Fist/Side Combo. Scooter vs. Status Quo’s Jump That Rock (Whatever You Want) harnesses the energy perfectly.

There are six solid rounds of identical choreography in Track 5 which also features the Power Squat. P!nk’s in the house in Track 6 and you’re gonna want to start a fight during So What. There’s no recovery and you’re trying to knock your opponent out with every punch! A new move, the Step Over Cross, features in Track 7. This is awesome as it can be used in both an offensive and a counter-move situation. Make sure you hold something back for the last 60 seconds of continuous Knee Strikes!

Your muscular endurance is certainly tested in Track 8 where the challenge is to never step out of the intensity. Track 9 is void of conventional Situps and instead uses the Hover and Side Plank to work all of the core muscles. The apt lyrics of Infernal’s I Won’t Be Crying help you through this intense track – even though you might feel like crying by this stage!

And here are the complete track list for the new release:-

01a. The One And Only (Topmodelz Radio Cut) - Mario Lopez
01b. Calling All Lovers - Rogue Traders
02. Cum On Feel The Noize - Group X/HeavyDance 2
03. Come With Me (Unique Mix) - Styles & Breeze
04. Jump That Rock (Whatever You Want) - Scooter vs Status Quo
05. Johnny B Goode - The Undertow
06. So What - Pink
07. Hardcore Angel - Nick Skitz
08. Cry For You (Weaver Remix) - September
09. I Won’t Be Crying - Infernal
10. It’s All Coming Back To Me Now - Meat Loaf & Marion Raven

Soo Kee Mee Stall

Was deciding between Soo Kee Beef Hor Fun or Mr.Sin's Hokkien Mee at Weng Hing. Since both of them are nearby to each other. Finally decided to go try out Soo Kee as I never been to the place and I managed to get a parking right opposite the restaurant.

From what I know, the place has a history over 60 years and is already a house hold name in the local (Sorry, but I never heard before this). It's not only famous to locals but also celebrities from overseas ranging from Jackie Chan, Maggie Cheung, Jay Chou, Alan Tam to name a few. The secret ingredients in their dish was passed down from one generation to the next. And the place is famous for their River Prawn Noodle, Beef Hor Fun and Paper wrapped chicken.

So when I arrived, I straight away ordered their Paper wrapped chicken for appetizer. Each of us had one and straight away unwrapped the paper and sink out teeth into those juicy meat. It was a bit hard but I am alright with it. Taste was just nice. But my babe told me Seri Kembangan's version was more better. Sorry for the bad picture quality as the lighting was a bit bad at that time. (RM4.50/piece)

Second dish was their famous Beef Hor Fun. As you can see it's really starchy and you can still see the eggs on the side. What a sight. Taste was alright but not much to brag about. It's above average but to me as I am not so into Cantonese style. I am not sure what is the hype about other than their generosity on the beef portion. It's really too much to the extend that there is still a lot when I finished the hor fun. (RM9/pax)

The last dish was their Pai Kut Yee Mee. I didn't ordered their River Prawn Noodle (RM16/pax) as the portion was really large for the two of us. The Pai Kut was tender and I love Yee Mee so I like this dish. But one set back on this dish was it's too salty. Other then that, it's just one normal Yee Mee with Pai Kut. (RM10/pax)

Other then noodle, they do served lala, vegetables, bean curd and other dishes to go with rice. But from what I saw, most of the table had either ordered their River Prawn Noodle or Beef Hor Fun. There is also a satey stall inside if you wanted something light to bite.

I think business was good that the son decided to open a new stall just across the street from the dad. And they even name the place Soo Kee's Son (Meng Chuan) Prawn & Beef Noodle. What a good publicity stunt. But for me, Hokkien noodle is still No.1 in my ranking compared to any other noodle. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)

From Dusk Till Dawn

Woke up really early this morning as I was planning to go to the DKSH warehouse sales. Managed to drag my babe out of the bed and go with me. Arrived around 9am and people were already leaving with bags of stuff they bought. The funny thing was the banner wrote 9.30am. But I have past experience on this sales so I went early this time. Managed to grab some toothpaste, instant coffee, facial wash among other stuff. This time around there were more items to offer compared to the previous I went.

Finished shopping and went to Romiko's sister new house at Sentul. Her two niece are so cute. Spent the whole afternoon over there and left around 2pm. Decided to go shopping for a pillow and instead bought a whole bunch of other stuff from Sg.Wang. My babe got herself a whole set of new wardrobe from tip to top. This is what we call compulsive shopper. lol~!!! We left around 6pm and gt stuck in the car park for almost 30minutes or more due to the jam outside. Stupid stupid jam. Went for dinner at Soo Kee Restaurant at Medan Imbi.

Got home and brother called saying that he's on his way over with my dad for dinner. Head spinning. But I can't say NO to my Dad, can I? So I suggested to go Damansara Hokkien Mee and ordered Hokkien Mee (what else do you think) and Peking Duck. Don't really ate any as I was still full with the previous dinner at KL. Super tired right now and tomorrow still have a whole day of appointments to attend and stuff to do. I need rest.

Pre-CNY Dinner @ Oversea Restaurant

It was our gang 3rd year pre-CNY dinner and this year the venue was Oversea Restaurant at Sri Petaling. We managed to get most of the gang together that night except Jeff and Joanne which called off at the last minute. But all of us had a really good dinner that night. Thanx to Eva again for organizing this year. It was really nice meeting up with the old gang again since we have our own different priority in life now days. Which means that we meet up less and less.

After the dinner we decided to go to this new bistro at Bandar Putri called Thirty Two Bistro. It was really nice and special as they served the best cigar and also wine in KL area (according to the owner). They have the complete (best 15) wine list from all over KL which was really something to brag about. It's a two double storey building with the lower as dinning area and upper as a mini pub area.

They served imported German, Holland and Belgium beers to name a few. They have most of what KL offer but the best part is that you're paying the Puchong rate and not the KL. So it's very reasonable (No, I don't get any commission from this. lol!!) Got to know the owner that night and was treated with some card tricks (which I exposed most of it .. haha!). Will try to dine in one day and post a blog bout the place. It's just started operational 3 months back. We called it a night around 2.15am. Like Punky said, we should do this more often, like once a month. :P

Mental Power or Stubbornness???

I am not sure it's the mental power or stubbornness of me that makes me to drove all the way to Summit to do Yoga and Body Combat on a sprain ankle?! Well maybe it's both. Anyway, my leg was better around evening time and thought to try some options while doing the classes. Yoga wasn't much of a problem but I did the option for the up dog pose. Sigh~! Managed to complete the class in one piece. Still saw Master T's name on the board. Definitely something was wrong but saw JX in the gym so I know she'll be instructing the class.

She told me that she's doing her video tonight for submission but at the start of the class I saw the camera wasn't operational. How weird. Anyway, continued with the class but without any shuffle and skipping from me. But still managed to complete the class with the conditioning. Later found out from her that no one knows how to operate the camera. Aikss!!! Should have asked me earlier. My charges not that expensive what! lol~!!

Was going out when we saw the new restaurant and took one of their promo brochure. RM398++ for pre-CNY dinner. Yes it's cheap and it comes Loh Sang with Abalone, Shark Fin, Suckling Piglet with Salted Soft Shell Crab to name a few. Definitely going to do our BKLTL pre-dinner at this place. Soft shells ... Yummy!!

Restaurant Spring Golden

Well since we're (OK, it's just me) in the Char Siew mood this week, just want to share another place for you all. Actually I was wondering where did I place this post as I can't find it in my post lists and even my pictures folder. Finally found out that it's actually from my previous blog. Well here it is, Restaurant Spring Golden in Sri Muda, Shah Alam.

I was reminded of this place by PreciousPea while chatting with her bout our Char Siew experience. I remembered that I had been to this place numerous times as I was working nearby previously. There is another branch at Glenmarie behind Meng Kee.

The place served the usual, chicken, duck and also the main attraction, pork or Char Siew. They occasionally do served goose on certain day of the week. Chicken wise, there's nothing much to brag about as it's just normal but not too bad. Siew Yuk was freshly made as the top layer skin was still crunchy when I sink my teeth into it. Just nice.

As for the Char Siew, well maybe they heard me wrong and given me too much lean portion. So it's a bit dry and hard. As you can see in the picture above it's not too say that juicy if compared with Meng Kee, Tian Hong or Soo Kee. From what I heard, Sri Muda is better than their Glenmarie branch. Maybe I like my pork to be more juicier and sweet.

Different people do have different taste. Someones pork might be someone else's chicken? Anyway, my verdict for this place is that it's not your average pork shop and do try out their goose if you have the chance. The duck wasn't that crispy too when I went over and try it out on my next trip. And they do serve complimentary fruits platter on my visit. Additional points for that. Their soup was also very nice which I need to mention in here. I am quite happy to say that I had tried most of the best served Char Siew in town from KL to PJ to Semenyih. Mission well accomplished.
