Renovation Week

Why am I so quiet lately? Same old answer, busy lor~! Busy with compiling my house renovation most of the time. I am now getting quotes from another contractor for the whole house and hopefully this time around the renovation work can really materialize (fingers cross). There are so many added costing which I didn't really considered previously. For instance, the kitchen's sink and taps. Been visiting some shops the pass few week comparing brands and finally (90%) decided which brand to take. Luckily I found a shop which sells very cheap down light fittings and light bulbs thanks to the people from my forum. I was really surprised when I realized that I need 47 down light fittings the whole house which mean 94 light bulbs for the whole house. Bleeding, my wallet is really bleeding. There goes a few thousand just on the lighting side. Other than these, I would also need to purchase water heaters, air conditions, ceiling fans and outdoor water filter. Everything is money~! Sigh!!

Gone In 5 Minutes

For those who read my FB status would had know what happened to me or rather company today. As usual, me and my colleague had a long meeting on a Monday morning and we decided to have lunch after that. So all of us traveled out around 12.40pm for lunch leaving one of our staff back to look after the office. When we are back around 2.10pm, my colleague called me up and told me that all our laptops are STOLEN. I was about to step out of the lift when he called. So I walked in and saw all four of our laptops are gone. Only two were left as it was an old model. WTF~! So we went over to the security office and view the CCTV. There were two Indian man who came over and while one of the man distracted my staff, another one went in and stole all our laptops.

One of them initially came in and informed my staff that they are sent over by the management to look at our air condition. As there are a foul smell coming out from our air cond or part of our office since Friday. We suspect that the smell was actually plant by them for the whole scheme. Then half way through he informed my staff that he need to go down to register with the guard and asked my staff to go with her. Strangely she followed him down and confirmed locking the door before she left. The guard couldn't be found and he finally left without saying a word and my staff went back up. Strangely again, she didn't noticed that out laptops are missing till we are back from lunch. The CCTV show that an Indian man came out with a big bag which we suspect containing our laptops inside and walked out of our compound. The Police told us that there are some cases at Sg. Buloh with the same modus operandi. Now we are all without laptops and it is so inconvenient for all of us sales person as all our sales tools are inside. Xien jor~~!!!!

I Am Exhausted

It had been a hectic weekend for me again as I had so much in my head. First and foremost, I would like to wish my good friend Eva's daughter, Emma Choi, Happy Birthday. Really sorry that I was late but I had totally forgotten of the birthday dinner. It proves how much stuff are running in my head. I am also finalizing the design for my kitchen and wardrobe design last week. There are still some changes on the kitchen cabinets as I am maximizing the drawers system and also minimizing my cost at the same time. At the same time, registering babe's new company as she is going to start her own business soon. Thanks again to MD for introducing me to his locksmith and getting some good quote for the pad locks and key system. At the same time, I meet up with the contractors on Sunday to get a second (or rather third) opinion on my house's renovation. This weekend is too short for me and I am so tired right now. Working again tomorrow and hopefully I can start on my 'project' and hopefully everything will fall into place. For those who are involve, thanks a lot for your help. You know who you are babes~

Mad Rush At The Gym

Fitness First at Empire these few days had been really quiet. Fasting started last week but you can see those lil traffic in the gym still appearing at some corner. But since Monday, you can really see the difference. Why? I think it's because of the expensive car park charges that Empire Gallery had imposed that's why! The rate for basement parking starts from RM1.50 for the first hour and RM1 for the consecutive hours. Even if it's just one minute over the first, they will charge you for the second. This had been proven by my friend yesterday night. I think she is still hitting her chest because of this. lolx~!! As for the Premium parking which I normally park (previously), the charges is RM3.50 for the first hour and RM2.00 for the consecutive hours or some where around that figure.

So for me who is doing back to back classes like yesterday night (3 classes) I would at least be paying for 4 hours which comes up to RM4.50. And I even have to rush to take a bath after the last class with a couple of minutes just to spare. Nowadays, we do not have the leisure to hang around the pantry to have some chat session or cooling down as every minutes count. This is no small amount (at least for me) as I am going to Empire for 5 days a week and joined at least 10 to 11 classes. I am paying around RM18 per week and it's RM72 for a month. Top that up with my monthly gym charges and it's close to RM250 (excluding tolls and mileage). Well you do the math. Will I still be going back? Well most probably, maybe just cutting down the classes and cutting short the conversation and cool down. So what's my suggestion? Request FF to give their members flat rate for the parking. Some sort like Menara Axis previously. But please install the machine inside the gym and not outside (DUH!!).

I Survived Body Attack 70 @ Empire

It was a last minute thingy as I didn't know that it was going to be the sneak preview of the new BA 70. Was told by June that it is the new release and I quickly changed into my gear and went straight in the class. I know there's something going on when I saw Teoh in Empire that day holding a basketball. You will know why later. Anyway, let's get down to the tracks that day. Teoh & June started off the warm up with Madonna's Like A Prayer. The members are all warmed up and was into 'drama' mode when we all heard the song in Track 2, Bad Romance. Teoh got a bit drama and the crowd goes wild from there. We would expect nothing less from any of the instructors.

Madonna is back with Britney in Track 3 with Me Against The Music. There is a new move called the bow tie run which has all of us running all over the four corners of the class. Tiring. Remember the basketball earlier? Well the theme for Track 4 is basketball and we are require to jump, evade and shoot hoops all the way. Track 5 is tiring as we are challenge with lots of push ups so better get prepare to feel your chest, triceps and shoulders in this track. They even have this new move called the Tricep Plank Jump & Walk Feet. In Track 6, we are trained on our agility as basketball is back with lots of lateral bounces  (defense) & dodge and pass (offense).

The highlight of Body Attack would be Track 9 and in Track 10 we have the Squats Jump and some little Single Foot Layup moves. And finally it's time for the reward all of us with one of my favorite song, Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z & Alicia Keys. What a good work out and good launch by both June & Teoh. Prudent also was on the stage doing of the track. Congrats to him again on a good stage lead and all the best. Hope you all Body Attackers out there like the new release as much as I did.

Inception

Finally I watched the movie last night. To be frank, I wasn't that interested in watching it when I saw the trailer early of the year. Reason is, I don't really know what the trailer was all about. But one thing for sure, it's damn cool seeing the whole city being bend and flip over. After a long wait, finally it's being shown and I don't have the time to watched it till yesterday. Read bout the review and all the friends feedback are good. So the rest is history as they said it.

The movie tells of a group of people who could enter your dream and steal your deepest secret. The team is being lead by Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his friend Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Both of them tried to steal something from Saito (Ken Watanabe) but failed and is being chased by the people who hired them in the first place. Saito decided to offer Cobb a way out if he decided to help him out with something. The plan is to plan an idea into another person's mind, hence Inception. But it's never been done, at least successfully or known till now. So he assembled a team which consists of Eames (Tom Hardy), Ariadne (Ellen Page) and Yusuf (Dileep Rao). Each of them specialized in their own field and everything is ready. Their target would be Robert Fischer (Cilian Murphy), who is going to inherit his father's fortune and Saito need him to dissolved the company's assets.

The plan is simple, now to execute it. I am not going to tell you what is the ending or how good the movie is going to be. But take my word that it's a brilliant movie. There are a lot of parts which I really like, particular the idea of us dreaming and waking up only to realize that we're still in a dream. But this is just the surface of it. What happened if you can't differentiate what is real and what is not? What happened when you are more happy to live in your dream rather than the reality? Will you stay in it? Or will you wake up from it? The best scene in the movie would be the fighting scene between Arthur and the bad guys with the rotating hallway. Totally cool. X-Men-First Class had to scrapped one part of their movie from the board as it's similar to this. For me, this is definitely a MUST WATCH. I can watch it another time or two if someone is buying. (Rating: 4.5 out of 5.0)

The Last Airbender 3D

Finally it's the night I had been waiting for. Finally I managed to catch The Last Airbender in 3D tonight. I had been talking bout this movie since early of the year and finally it's here. I had purposely bought the box set for the anime and watched it few months back just to recapture the hype of the whole Avatar thingy. I bought the tickets since last Firday and I got some really nice seats right in the middle of the cinema. For those who never heard of the movie before, well let me introduce you a bit of the whole Airbender phenomenon.

The story tells of a world divided into four nations, Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation and Air Nomad. They all lived in harmony with each another with an Avatar who is born each time under one of the nation. The avatar has the ability of the four tribes and able to communicate with the spirit world and hence able to maintain peace all this while. Until one day, the avatar disappear for a hundred year. The fire nation took the opportunity and tried to take over the other tribes. They wiped out the whole Air Nomad as they know that the next Avatar would be born under this nation. One day, two Northern Water Tribe siblings, stumbled upon a kid in an ice berg and accidently released him. The two siblings, Katara & Sokka befriend with Aang the Avatar and decided to joined him in his journey to all the other nations to find him a master to learn all the other bending.

This movie only tells the story from the first of four books, which is the Water Book. For me the story seemed a bit rush but I can't blamed them since they are packing the whole season into one movie. But they did put in all the best part in this movie. The actors that acted in the movie are quite similar with the ones in the anime. I am really impressed in this. But the movie lacked the comedic and funny side of the characters. Aang should be more funnier and childish in the anime but Noah Ringer who played Aang seemed a bit quiet and serious most of the time. Even Sokka's bad jokes couldn't be found in any part of this movie. Nicola Peltz who played Katara also seemed like a good choice with her sweet face but again without the hard headed attitude here. Dev Patel who played the banished Prince Zuko is one of the best character here. He hates everyone and that's it.

The whole movie seemed a bit dark too me and a bit gloomy too. It should be more funnier and comedic but maybe the director, M. Night Shyamalan worried it would seemed like a kid's movie if there's too much of those element in the movie. But heck, it was supposed to be a kid show. I like what they did with Appa (the flying bison) and also Momo (the flying lemur). But they should have more Momo in the movie as he always sticks around Aang most of the time and also Appa too. Not sure if they are coming out with the second book or not. But I hope they do cause I wanted to see more of Aang and the rest of the casts. And why did they pronounced his name that way? I thought it should sound like 'Eng' in the anime although it's spelt Aang.

Apple's New Generation of iPods, iPads & iPhones

iLounge had just got news from a reliable source that Apple is going to launch their new generations of iPod, iPad Mini and also iPhone 5. Yes, you heard me right, iPhone 5. And we didn't even get iPhone 4 over here yet. Well according to the reliable source, there are 3 types of iPod coming out as early as September (as they normally do), a 7" iPad late this year or early next year and iPhone 5 as early as January next year. iLounge had this to say about these iDevices.

iPod
They claimed that there are 3 models of iPod coming out as early as September. There will be a new generation of iPod Touch and iPod Nano. The last would most probably be a touch screen iPod Shuffle.

iPad Mini
This is not the first time that we heard that Apple is coming out with a smaller version (5" or 7") of their iPad. Now they are saying that the new so-called iPad Mini would most probably be coming out late this year or early next year. So just keep your fingers cross for now.

iPhone 5
This is the one which intrigued me. iPhone 5? I mean, where's my iPhone 4? Words are, iPhone 5 are coming out next year to replace the current antenna issue on their iPhone 4 unit. Rumors has it that Verizon Wireless will start selling iPhone early next year. So this might be possible too. But don't keep your hopes up on this.

iPhone Bumper
Apple already announced that they will be giving out iPhone bumper to reduce the antenna problem. And now the words on the street is that Apple is working on a less expensive Silicone like bumper casing to be distributed out around September to all their iPhone 4 users. Sources revealed that the original bumper had more hard material on it than the coming ones. So just wait and see now.

UltraSn0w 1.0-1 to Unlock iPhone 4

Just a few days after Comex released their JB tool for iOS4 for all iDevices, iPhone Dev Team had just release their own UltraSn0w 1.0-1 which unlock iPhone 4. This is truly good news to those who are using factory lock iPhone 4 right now. As this is the first in the world tool to unlock the new iPhone 4. Previously they released UltraSn0w 0.93 to unlock all basebands from OS 3.0 including baseband 05.13.04 which comes together with iOS 4 for both iPhone 3G and 3GS users. Which means that if you had just JB your iPhone 4 running on iOS 4.0.1 using JailBreakMe, then you should be able to unlock it with this new UltraSn0w 1.0-1. You can download it from Cydia for free.

Please read this through before you do anything.
  1. Launch Cydia from your iPhone 4.
  2. Add repo666.ultrasn0w.com in the repo section inside Cydia.
  3. Search for ultrasn0w in Cydia now and click Install.
  4. After completing installation, your phone is unlock. It's that easy.
Remember to always back up your phone before you try anything as the author do not take any responsibility to the damage which might happen during this process. Yes, just to cover my ass as always. Enjoy~!

JailbreakMe 2.0 for most iDevices

Finally the wait is over. Comex had finally released their jailbreak which they promised few weeks back for all the iDevices available. If you think Spirit was easy, think again. JailbreakMe 2.0 is so easy that a 10 y.o could do it. All you need is just your iDevice and internet connection using your Safari browser. Swipe the taskbar and sit tight and wait for the show to begin. Yes, it's that easy. As usual, it's always recommended to sync and backup your iDevice using iTunes before you try anything. There are some issues reported, for instance it would not work on iPad running on iOS 3.2.1 and some users also reported issue with their MMS. But for the latter issue, the problem had been rectify. Some reported of pixel lost but no major issues. Once you typed in the website, you will be shown the picture above. Just 'slide to jailbreak' as mentioned.

And it's Done~! Your iPhone had just been jailbroken. Yes, it's that simple.

If you have any problem with the main site, you could try this alternate website. I need to stress out that this JB as the name goes doesn't hacktivate or unlock your iDevice. If you are on a lock phone, please proceed with unlocking with either UltraSn0w 0.93 after JB it. Take note that this is very new and I still seeing some hiccups here and there but there are a lot of success stories too. So please back up your SHSH blob as I mentioned in my earlier post. It's now legal to jailbreak your phones as the people had won in a suit against Apple if I am not mistaken on JB matter. So have fun and do let me know how you think of the new JailbreakMe 2.0 from Comex. Enjoy yer all~!

StarBorn Clubbing Party 2010

So how did I passed my Saturday night? Clubbing of course. OK, that doesn't really sound like me but that is what I did last night. Romiko was invited to this event organized by Bernard from Line Dance Funk class. It is an annual event where all the members from his class gathered and dance for hours in a booked disco. If I am not mistaken, they were in Coco Cabana last year. This year around it was held at Mist Club in Bangsar. The party started around 5pm with dinner for all the members and they started the event around 6pm. This year around, Bernard managed to gathered his members from not only Fitness Fitness but also My Fitness and also Sport Toto Berjaya Time Square fitness. I think the crowd come close to 200 people last night. Fitness Fitness members from KBT is the most happening that night as they came in dressed in High School theme. So imagine a bunch of guys and gals wearing school uniform busting their moves on the dance floor. Hot~!!!!

Why is it so good? Cause the dance floor is so awesome, they are all dancing in the same manner and moves. Cause the songs played are those that he taught in his class. We have songs from Pitbull, Jay Sean, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Shakira and even Wonder Girls. I am really surprised how the members are so high when they heard Justin's Baby song. Shakira's Wakaka Wakaka is the newest dance move which he taught I was told. You can see the members are as young as early 20s to 60s. Yes, I saw some ladies moving their body that night and trust me, we don't see these everyday. I am really impressed and salute those who are so brave to dance that night as I am not that bold. The night end around 10.30pm with tons of gifts given away during the lucky draw and we're even featured in a local TV channel as they came to cover the event. How cool~!
