Cinammon @ 1 World

It was Friday afternoon and I had kept my stomach of anything solid the whole day. I onli ate a piece of Cheese Brownies which I took away from from Secret Recipe the day before . The reason u ask? Well, it's my company's dinner tonight and I wanna keep my stomach for the nice fancy food the place had got to offer.
The venue is Cinammon @ 1 World. It's located next to 1 World Hotel. You can go over from 1 Utama passing through SOHO Restaurant. The booking was for 7pm but I arrived early with my colleague around 6pm. We had some problem with the seating and finally they had shifted us nearer to the food stalls. Sweet~!!

We're having buffer. The food is multi national. In other word, u can see food ranges from Spaghetti to Nasi Lemak to Dim Sum to Sushi and Seafood. The ambiance of the place was quite fascinating. It's cozy and spacious. The place was almost fully booked by other company for their own function and also family and frens dinner.
Once you enter the main door u can see a big wine hall on the right side. We were seated next to it. The view was really nice. I mean, looking at all those racks of wine that they had piled up.
We scout around the place for the food that we wanna eat later on. The first food that my colleague went to is the seafood section. Where they served the salmon, oysters, crab and prawns. Well you can see from the picture if you are wondering how fresh it is.
The first food that I ordered was the spaghetti cabonara from the cook. It was OK. The cream was a bit plain but still .... eatable.
Than we took the sweet and sour prawns which tasted very nice. As the prawns was really juicy and fresh. 3 of us almost took 3/4 of the whole serving on the main plate. haha~
Than was the salmon on the stick. Damn it's nice. Might be the best food for me that night. I ate around 5 - 6 sticks of the fish. Topping it off with the thousand island and also french dressing. haha~ A bit weird but it tasted good.
Than was the fried prawn in wan ton style which is good. The mussels dipped in spicy sauce was also very nice. The beef, chicken and mutton can also been seen but I didn't took any as I wanna try something else that night.
Then there was the crab which my colleague took and ate a lot. haha~ I didn't ate any as I was too lazy to crack open the shells. But from the look from my colleague's face, it tasted just nice.
One interesting food that I found was the salad bar section. The way you prepare the salad was really new for me. The salad is placed into a big cheese. Yup you heard me right, a big freaking cheese with a hole at the centre. Imagine a ball cut into half and the centre is empty. You can customize your salad from the side dishes that they had. You can see how mouth watering is my salad from the picture.
Next was the oyster but I didn't eat much of those. It's not as large as Jogoya but most importantly that it is fresh. Other than that, we had dim sum, lok lok, satey and nasi minyak. Yes, it's cheap but since we're there. So wat the heck. Makan only la.
Then I saw something on one of the shelves. CHEESE !!!! I got curious and took one of each to the table and try it out. And it was really nice. Well some of them. And I got more ideas for the cheese so we all took home some souvenirs. hahaha~ We ended the dinner around 9.30pm that night. It was really nice and we all took pictures before we leave. And I went for 2nd round at Asia Cafe with the BKLTL members. But that is another story. (Rating : 3.7 out of 5.0)

Restaurant Boston - AEON Bukit Tinggi

It’s one week since my Bar.B.Q Plaza visit and now I am at it again. No it’s not the same Bar.B.Q plaza but steamboat. The venue? Restaurant Boston at AEON Bukit Tinggi. The deco was OK so I thought why not? Damn I was so wrong. Never do judge a book by it's cover. I ordered Sliced Beef Hotpot for 1 pax (inclusive of soup and hotpot). The sliced beef was onli 5 slices but the mutton was OK. Romiko ordered Mutton Hotpot for 1 pax too. What does it consists? Well let the picture do the talking. A lot of vegetables is all I can say. The sauce was nothing special. They gave me 1 chilly type sauce and one soy sauce with fried onions. Damn it's was plain normal. And the set cost me RM 22.95. Wat a rip off.

We ordered mineral water and also jasmine tea and the total cost for all this rounded up around RM 58.00. Nothing much to say bout this place. But the place is packed though. Well most of the restaurant there is pack though. There is not enough restaurant in AEONI guess. But the Japanese Restaurant opposite this place seemed to be nice. My next destination~~~ BTW, visited the new FF at AEON but wasn’t allowed to go in as it will only open on the next day. Sux!!! (Rating : 3.5 out of 5.0)

Bar.B.Q Plaza (1st Visit) - 1Utama New Wing

The place for ths time around is called Bar.B.Q Plaza located at 1Utama New Wing. I went over with my brother and sister in law. They insisted to try out the place. Well actually all of us tried the place before but just that we had the craving for BBQ that moment. We waited for a seat around 10mins. Reasonable I guess. The place was quite spacious. But I think it lacks employees as they were over work. Anyway, back to the restaurant. We ordered the Family Deluxe Set. The set is recommended for 3 -4 pax. The sets consists of Sirloin, Beef, Pork, Bacon, Chicken, Squid, Fish Fillet, Shrimp, Udon, Sliced Cabbage, Baby Corn, Carrot, Lettuce, Tomato and etc. The food was nice and the soup was nice also.Than we ordered one set of Chilled Mini Octopus. The baby octopus was very nice if you like cold raw sea food. The mix up the order accidentally and served us another plate of octopus. Lucky~!We had also ordered their Bacon Rolls. The bacon roll is also very nice. The bacon roll is stuffed with rice and some vegetables. Nice!!!

The set come with plain steam rice. But I heard from my friend that they do offer garlic fried rice. Which is more better with the sauce that they provide.
Let’s go to the sauce, they give slices of lemon, sliced chillies, and minced garlic. Add that all wit their secret sauce and you got one super delicious combination. Yup~! I found out that the secret to the restaurant is their sauce. Well that is all my opinion alone.

So the whole dinner was really filling I can say. Will I return for another round. Definately~! The damage for the night was around RM 71.00 (inclusive of 3 drinks). Not too expensive I guess. (Rating : 7.5 out of 10.0)

Restaurant Waroeng Penyet - The Curve

The place I’m gonna intro this week is Waroeng Penyet at The Curve. It’s a new restaurant which is situated at the same floor as Kim Garry Restaurant. It served local Indonesian food. So dun be surprised if u see a lot of local people and also Indonesian eating there. The place was quite full when we’re there. We were able to get a table for 5 luckily. Let’s get to the food, they served Fried, Grilled and also some local salads.Their house specialty is their Fried Ayam Penyet which means flattened fried chicken.
The dish come with 1/4 of a chicken. Fried and flattened with alot of crust. Yummy. It also come with their local tauhu and also mashed meat tauhu and cabbage. There is also some nasty chillies to go with it. If u like spicy food than try it out. Not bad I might say.
Oh ya, plain rice is ordered separately. Maybe they don't wanna incurred the cost in the food if you dun feel like eating the rice. The rice cost RM 1.90. Yup~! It’s quite pricey for some plain rice. They also offer their local cracker if u dun wanna eat the rice which cost the same.
The other recommended by the place was their Grilled Ayam.Well not bad also. They served the same side dishes as the Ayam Penyet but without the spicy chillies. Like the name said, it is grilled and it’s quite tasty too. But the portion is a bit small for me.

Then for the refreshment we had ordered their Happy Soda which, LP said tasted like cough syrup. hahaha~ Well maybe it is. The Es Milo Dinosaur means that it’s Kau Kau. haha~ And one more thing, the food is dry and with no gravy so better order the soupalicios where you can add some soup on your rice. hehe~! Restaurant Zheng Jia (Bak Kut Teh) - Bandar Puchong Jaya

Me and my two colleagues (Calvin & Hor) are deciding where to eat and Hor decided to eat Bak Kut Teh and I had suggested our old place, Zheng Jia @ Bdr Puchong Jaya. Well why you may ask for me to specifically suggested this place? For my close makan kaki, they will know that I am so into dry BKT rather than wet. So this place served one of the best dry BKT. Well other than the one in Sentosa that is. haha~ Anyway, we had ordered 3 pax size for the dry and 2 pax for the wet and also once dish of vegetable.
They also served normal oil rice and also their specialty rice. I had the normal rice but my colleague ordered the latter. What’s so nice about their dried BKT you may ask? Well for one it’s very well cook and the gravy which consists of dried chillies and also dried fried calamari. It’s damn tasty. For those who are curious, you can always try this out. But make sure it’s authentic. Well the dry BKT came from Klang I guess. Not many places served dry type but this is how I eat it now days.
For the normal wet type, it’s was just alright. I didn’t taste much of it. As I was digging in the dry one. The vegetables was normal nothing much to brag about. So the only special thing is their dry BKT I guess. So go try it out. The damage was around RM 59.50 including tea and extra 3 rice. (Rating: 4.2 out of 5.0)

The address is Mo.121, Jalan Kenari 23, Bandar Puchong Jaya. I think they closed on every Monday.

Kafe Maroon - Aman Suria

It was Wednesday and I am looking for a place for lunch yet again. I have an appointment at Sunway Mas Commercial Centre after lunch hour and Kafe Maroon suddenly pop onto my head. The place served Indian, Western and Local Cuisine. But the thing that caught my appetite are their Authentic Indian Cuisine which from the Northern and also Southern part of India. Well it’s just another D’ Kayu you might say but it’s really not. They served Indian Cuisine Starter like Spicy Cheesy Bread (Maroon’s version of Brushetta, toasted bread topped with spicy chicken and layered with cheeese), Masala Papad (fried papad with tomato cucumber and spices), Paneer Stick (deep fried cottage cheese) and Soup of the day (which is their mushroom soup).
They served rice like Pulau Rice, Peas Rice and also Plain Briyani. For bread they served Plain Naan, Butter Naan, Garlic Naan<>and also Stuffed Vegetable Parata (naan stuffed with vege).

OK, let’s go into the main menu. For Northern Indian Curries, they served Palak Paneer (creamy spinach with cottage cheese), Dhal, Aloo Gobi Masala, Paneer Makkan Wala (cottage cheese in creemy sauce, which I highly recommend), Malai Kofta and lots more.
For Southern Indian Curries, they served Chicken Varuval, Mutton Cukka, Fish Curry, Prawn Masala, Crab Masala, Chicken 65 (fried tender boneless chicken), Mutton Masala, Crab Pittu and the lists just goes on.
I won’t go into Western and Local Cuisine that much as it’s just extra entries onto their menu. But to satisfy your curiosity, they do served Stuffed Mushroom (fresh mushroom stuffed with creamed beef bacon), Mix Salad, Caesar Salad, Bolognese/Cabonara Classic, Mixed Seafood Pasta, Steaks & Lambs, Chicken & Fish, Sandwiches and Snacks. They do served plain parata, egg/onion parata, cheese parata, chapati and lots more la. OK, what I ordered you ask? I go for the set lunch which is their Nasi Briyani Set and Chicken Tandoori Naan Set. For the Briyani, there is one drumstick and salad and small portion of sambal. It’s was OK but not that filling. But than again I got the mushroom soup which tasted really nice. It is served with one loaf of garlic bread. The mushroom is minced too small tiny sizes which u can’t bite but u knw it’s there as the scent was really strong. For the garlic naan, they FOC me some dhal. (RM15.90)The Tandoori came first than my briyani. The Tandoori Naan was really large in size. The tandoori was fresh roasted or how u might call it. The naan was plain but still it’s soft and smells nice. Not those that we ate outside our mamak stalls. haha~ They gave us two curries for the set which consists of dhal and also palak paneer (which tasted really nice if I may add). (RM 12.90)I also ordered their Soup of the day which is mushroom soup and also Garlic Naan. The sets comes with a bottomless Ice Lemon Tea/Coke/Pepsi and also single scoup of ice cream for desert. Before the food arrived they served Papadam for us to eat. Than came the ice lemon teas. As I ased for extra curries. The garlic naan was fresh and a lot of garlic if I might say. (RM 7.00)
Later on they served us the ice cream which can I can choose between Choc or Strawberry. I choose choc and it was really nice. Not those normal Nestle ice cream that we buy from hypermarket la .. haha~ , (which is really worth it with the bottomless drinks and desert),

So the whole lunch cost me around RM 45.00. Quite worth it I may say from the food and also service and environment of the place. It’s quite and they even have wireless in their kafe.

Their address is G-G-22, Jln PJU 1/45, Aman Suria.

Restaurant Hainan Curry Rice - Klang Bukit Tinggi

It's a Friday afternoon and I went down to Klang to take my lunch after an appointment at Meru. The place is called Restaurant Hainan Curry Rice. It's located at Bukit Tinggi, Klang. I forgot the exact address but it's the same row at Little Bali if you all know the square in Bkt Tinggi. Anyway, I had ate in this restaurant for god so many times. Cause they served one of the best Char Siew around the area. So let me go through the menu for the day.

I had ordered the usual Hainanese food that I normally eat. There is a lot more that they offer but this is what I recommend. Or rather what I like to eat .. hehe!! :) The first is the curry rice (duh!!). The normality is for the curry to be poured onto the white rice. Which I like a lot. hehe!
Than I will order the Char Siew and also the Spring Roll. Their Char Siew is not the usual one that we eat. As it's Hainan style Char Siew, it's fried and not roast. The crunchy sensation of the pork is very appetizing. It's not too dry and not too fattening also. So u must choose wisely when u order. As for the Spring Roll, it's also a must in the menu for me as it's very packed and also juicy. It's not the normal fried oily type but rather packed with it's essence of pork inside.
Than there is the Cabbage. The white cabbage. It's very plain but it's the essential in the Hainan dish. It's fresh and also crunchy to eat together with the curry rice.
There is also the Curry Mutton which is so tender and sweet. The smell of curry is just right and there is no smell of the mutton which normally the meat will produce.
Lastly you must order the Pig's Blood and Intestine's Soup. It's a bit spicy and it's very tasty too for those who love pig's blood that is.

For drink, what else but Hainan Coffee. hehe! You can have it hot or cold. But who in hell drink a cold hainan coffee? heck if I care... haha!!!! The damage for two person, less than RM 20.00. (Rating : 4.0 out of 5.0).

Restaurant Tua Huat @ Jalan 19

It was a bright Sunday afternoon and I just got back from my hometown. It's around 4.30pm and I was wondering if this place will be opening today. As it's the 2nd day of Raya and all. Than I looked at the back of the name card and it read "Public Holiday Open 7 Days". So what the hell, I drove down to Jalan 19 and went over to eat the Loh Mee. The place is called Restaurant Tua Huat and the address is 50G, Jalan 19/3. It's the same row as Nanking Restaurant after the BAT roundabout.

Their specialty is their Loh Mee. So I straight away ordered the Loh Mee and also their Fish Cake and Spring Roll. Their Loh Mee is said to be similar to the one located in Ulu Yam. But since I never had the chance to go over and try. So I just take my colleague's word for it. The Loh Mee is looks very delicious and hot. The color is darker than the one that we usually ate outside. As they had added a lot of vinegar onto the noodle. So for those who can eat a lot of vinegar, than this is the dish for you.
The smell is so nice and the taste of the mee is so refreshing. This might be the amount of vinegar that they poured in and also the fried lard that they put into the soup. You can even bite so of the small fried lard in the noodle. damn cun ~~~!!! Than I had ordered the Fish Cake which to me was just so so. This is because I don't really like to eat fish cake at all. haha! The Spring Roll was really nice. For those who dun like the fish cake (like me) than you can try the spring roll. It's all freshly fried when you ordered.
The price for the noodle (small) is RM 5.00, (medium) RM 9.00 and (large) RM 12.00. The parang fish cake cost around RM 4.00 while the Spring Roll (per roll) is RM 8.00. (Rating : 4.0 out of 5.0)

Shi Ling Taiwan Snack - 1Utama

This had been one of my favourite Taiwan snack stall in many years. I can’t really remembered when was the first time I tried it but it does leave a really good impression in me. Where is the place you asked? The place is called Shi Ling in 1Utama, Old Wing. Around TGV cinema. Normally u can see a long queue starting from this half a store stall.

OK, back to the menu. They served 4 main dishes over there. The most famous is their Crispy Fried Chicken. The second is the all time favourite, Oyster Mee Sua a.k.a O Wa Mee Sua. The other is their Fried Tempura and also Chicken Floss Roll. For drinks they only served mineral water and Soy bean in a bottle. All the food cost exactly RM 5.50 and the drinks RM 2.00 per bottle. The fried chicken is not the normal fried chicken that we all eat at our local pasar malam. The most common one is the Uncle Bob Fried Chicken. Physically it looked the same but once you had a bit in it, it taste totally different. It’s spicy and also a bit sticky. I can’t explained it though but it's just different. It felt like a bit sticky and not the normal flour that we all used. Don't get me wrong, there is still flour in the chicken.
Than the Oyster Mee Sua. What so special you asked? Well for one, the mee sua can be cooked the whole day and still taste so good and soft. This is because their Mee Sua is imported from Taiwan and not the normal Mee Sua that we all eat at home. Where the mee will go all goes once it’s over-cooked. The gravy is just nice with a bit spice from the chilly paste that they put in by your request.

The fried tempura is also nice as it is all well fresh prepared. You can still taste the fish taste in it I guess. But it’s just OK for me. As for the rolls. I can’t say much as I haven’t tried it out. But from my source, it’s really nice too. Maybe some of you can try it out and let me know. (Rating: 4.0 out of 5.0)
