Don't Judge A Book By It's Cover

Woke up feeling great as we had the whole house by ourselves for the whole weekend. We can cook and watch movies till the wee hours. Sweet~! Decided to go for some shopping today and at the end Romiko managed to get herself a new dress for the wedding which are coming in from next month.

Went down Bukit Tinggi to have dinner with her family to celebrate her father's birthday. Yup, he's one of the Independent birthday boy. We went to one of this new place which is along Jalan Bayu Tinggi. It's secluded but still there are a lot of people patronizing the place. I forgot what's the name. I was sceptical of the place but was amazed with the dishes that they cooked. Yet proves that we can't always judge a book by it's cover.

Went to Summit thought to catch a movie but was 15mins late. Damn~! So we decided to get a DVD and watch at home with a home cook dinner cum supper. Yummy~! Still cracking my head where to bring Romiko for dinner tomorrow. Something simple or something grand? Well let's wake up tomorrow morning and decide. lol~!

All Messed Up

It was Friday and I had planned all my schedule for the day. But my boss had last minute changed his schedule and messed up mine. At the end, I had to rushed for my morning appointment, drove to Sg.Buloh for another meeting, rushed to Pos Malaysia in KLIA, drop my boss at KLIA and went back to Kajang for two other appointments. My gosh~! What a day. But luckily I had managed to coaxed my technician to drive yesterday.

Went over gym but couldn't managed to joined Body Balance as I need to picked up my girl from Klang. Joined K-Bear's Body Pump with BQ and LP. Had increased some weight last night as I had skipped pump class for two days this week. Continued with Body Combat and most of the gang were there. Fun class~! And here's the run down for last night class:-

  1. Stuck On You
  2. We're Not Gonna Take It
  3. (forgot)
  4. Bagpipes
  5. Wasabi
  6. Vogue
  7. So What!
  8. Heaven (3 days in a row~!)
  9. Switch
  10. Because Of You

Finished off the class and went for minum session at Asia Cafe. Had a good dinner cum supper and since we're in the mood, we hang around till passed midnight and left soon after.

Another Rainy Day

It's been raining the whole day. What a nice for sleeping. It started raining around noon and it was breezing the whole afternoon. Until 5pm when the heavy down pour started. Reached home and it was still raining cats and dogs. Catch up on my anime and also movies. Cooked myself some instant noodle Picked up my dear mom from aunt house as brother was still working. Finished watching the movie and chat with K-Bear online. Both your girls looked so cute after grooming. Miss my Coco at home as it's raining now and he might be scared of the thunder. Need to move back to my PJ home this week. Got to stick with the plan. It's been 4 months living in Puchong. I need to go back. It's 11 now and the rain is getting heavier. Will the road be flooded again tomorrow? That I am not sure, but it's gonna be a good slumber for me tonight.

Eat Work Shop - Glenmarie

Today I went to looked for an old friend for lunch. The place is called Eat Work Shop and it's located in Glenmarie Business Park. To be frank, I bet you can't find this place even if I told you the place. The reason? Well for one, the restaurant name wasn't visible from outside and second, the place is a shooting ground.

Anyway, let's get back to the food. They served western cuisine such as Pasta, Salad, Gourmet Sandwiches, Main Course and Desserts. Some recommended dishes overthere are their Smoked Salmon Salad, Blacken Dory Fillet, Grilled Beef Striploin, Spicy 'M' Pasta and their Ultimate Choc Fondant dessert. But as I was not into heavy lunch, so I ordered their Cabonara Pasta. Yes, predictable. Whatever. I like my Cabonara. You can choose from Beef Bacon or Grilled Chicken for their side and so I choose the first. It's not too say a large portion but just enough. And yes those are cheese shredded on top of the pasta. Nice~!! The bacon was a bit dry and hard but it's a bit crispy too. Overall the pasta was passable. Will try their other pasta next round. (RM 20.80)As for my friend, she ordered the Roast Chicken Sandwich. It's roasted chicken thigh, sliced tomato, lettuce, onions rings, BBQ sauce & house mayonnaise with side serving of fries. It was OK, and the roasted chicken was really hot from the oven. Can still see the smokes coming out from the chicken. (RM 16.80)As for the drinks, I had ordered their Earl Grey. Yes, I am so into Earl Grey nowdays. Maybe it's the aroma? But the tea bag was placed in the cup rather then in a tea pot. But it's refillable though. And then they give you a tea pot to refill your drink. Weird~! (RM 5.60)As for my friend, she ordered the Hot Caffe Mocha. But it's rather small and quite sweet. Well atleast she doesn't add any sugar to it. (RM 7.90)Well overall I can say that the ambiance and the service is good. It's not crowded as not many people know the place anyway. Only people who work around the place know of it's existance. I was introduced of the place around 2 years back. And the feeling is still the same. Should try the dessert and their cakes if you have the chance. Nice~! (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)

Disney Mooncake

Nice, this is a special mooncake or some sort which my boss brought from Taiwan. The packaging is so nice. It's made by Disney and Mickey Mouse was incorporated in the packaging too. There is 2 packs with 3 mooncakes each. The mooncake taste like yam and looks like a yam but it might not be yam totally. But it's really nice and not that sweet. There were also gold dust on top of each mooncake to create some magic touch.

Rainy Day .... !!!

It was a lazy for me today as it stared to rain around noon. Finished off all my appointments and went back to my old house in P.J to check up on Coco. He's all grown up and so cute. Went to gym later to joined Body Step. Sue isn't teaching tonight as she's doing her training for the new release else where. So Daniel was replacing her. Not much mood to do today so I skipped it and went down to read some papers. Not much people turned up for gym tonight, even Brian's RPM class wasn't that crowded tonight. So it's just me, BQ, QQ, Jac and Cindy in the class. So here's the run down of my request for the night:-

  1. Amazed / Tick Tick Boom
  2. The United Vibe
  3. Come With Me
  4. Tribal Dance
  5. Elevator
  6. U & Ur Hand
  7. Shake
  8. Heaven
  9. A Little Less Conversation
  10. When Love & Hate Collide

Had a long chat after class and continued our session during minum session at Canai 15. Damn we all ate a lot tonight. Like buka puasa only. lol~! We called it a night around 11.45pm. Yes, it was that late~!

Tendering In The Letter

It was an emotional day for me as I am tendering in my resignation letter today. But the boss wanted me to settled off all my stuff before I can leave. And he really hopes that I would reconsidered and stay. But I had to put my foot down on this. I need to call my new boss to reconfirm again as I promised him I would join the company latest by mid of September. Predicament.

Finished all the meeting and left for gym from my office. Changed and went for a walk and meet Master C at Starbucks. Shared some of his trips adventure in The States last 3 weeks. Continued with the class with MD, BQ, CP and LP. So here's the run down:-

  1. Angels / Dancing Up A Storm
  2. Action
  3. Shooting Star
  4. Zombie
  5. Don't You Wanna Feel
  6. Bad
  7. Party Non Stop
  8. Believe In Me
  9. Here I Come
  10. Red Warrior (is it???)

Went for our usual minum session tonight as MD and CP was with us tonight. Damn nice garlic nan and also chicken chop. For sure will return again next time.

Special Mooncake

For those who is interested, please feel free to order. Please click the picture to read the details. (Funny!!)

Cheap Labour

I was out the whole morning with the family at The Curve. Drop by at the gym to looked at the Boot Camp for awhile. Damn, Master T looked small beside Alvin and K-Bear. lol~! Continued with my shopping and sent Chloe back to the nanny at noon. Heavy rain most of the afternoon. Got home and rest for a while before heading to Master T's house for some pre-wedding preparation.

What's the agenda? Two words, Cheap Labour. lol~! Luckily most of the 'chee mui' were there to help out. Food were provided and catering was really good. We got briyani from JM Briyani and also whole lot'ta KFC. Continued with preparing the door gifts and also the best wishes cards.

Damn we all had a good laugh looking at their wedding photos. 8pm, it's the Beijing 2008 Olympic Closing Ceremony. Changing channel from 825 to 318 as some don't wanna listened to the Cantonese version of the commentator. lol~! Finished off with the run down of the wedding agenda and we call it a night around 10.45pm.

Sunday, August 24

Kluang Station - Ikano Power Centre

I am not sure how many times had I took my Sunday lunch over at this place but let it's been a while since I visited last. So what's so special bout this place? Well like I said previously, I totally love their nasi lemak with ayam goreng. It's a bit dry this time but it's still very crunchy. As for Romiko, her usual would be the Asam Laksa. My brother had ordered their Boiled Eggs which was nice and not too raw. For drinks, what else but Cham Ice in this place for us. My brother had ordered their new Curry Lamb with Nasi Lemak. The Lamb Curry was alright but not to say delicious. Portion wise, it's just nice for one. My sister in law had ordered their new Asam Fish with Nasi Lemak. The curry was really nice as it's filled with a lot of 'santan'. Not bad if you like sour curry. lol~!

One Day Trip in KL

It was Saturday and I wasn't gonna spent the whole day at home. Looked at the time and decided to go SOHO KL for a stroll with my girl. Can't find your way? Here's a map. I wasn't too sure how to go over but am sure it's around Mount Kiara area. So I reached around 8.45 and the place was very new and there was only a few restaurants which was operating. There were Dubrovnik Restaurant, Ole Ole Bali, Michelangelo's, Tenji, Starbucks, Dessert's Bar Studio, Sushi King, O'Ngon and a few more. Took me less than 20 minutes for the whole tour. At least I can say, Been There, Saw That when people ask me next time.

Next stop I went down to KL for supper. Yes, I was in the mood and I was cruising down Jalan Duta cutting into Jalan Sg.Besi to Jalan Pudu and finally Jalan Pasar. Had our supper there and decided to take a car ride up to Cheras and down Sri Petaling to buy some late supper for my brother at home. Reached home around 10.30 and still managed to watch some shows on TV. What a day!

Kai Woh Bao - Sri Petaling

So where did I go for late supper tonight? Well it's a shop located at 140, Jalan Radin Anum 1, Sri Petaling. It's main business is selling Dim Sum. Well what's so special bout this dim sum shop from the other? The answer is the below special bao which they created. It's called 'Kai Wo Pao' or Chicken Nest Bao. The reason is the shape of the outer skin looks like a nest maybe. The unique thing bout this bao is that the outer skin is made out of normal bao skin. They rolled the skin onto a cup and placed it into the oven to steam. After that, they will chunk the glutinous rice into the bao. What is inside the bao other than the rice? Well there is some boneless chicken, onions, salted egg, mushrooms and also minced pork. They are selling each of these bao around RM4. Expensive? Well you decide. Since a single Loh Mai Kai nowdays already cost more than RM2. And since this bao contains a lot of other stuff like mushrooms and chicken and also pork, you can try to have a bit and decide. Well I would definitely recommend to those who like Loh Mai Kai and Bao. And they even come in special single box when you ordered a take away. Since you already paid for the box i assume. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)

Local Delights - Back Lane off Jalan Pasar

It was 10pm when I reached Jalan Pasar. I had wanted to bring my girl to this back lane which sell a lot of local delights. We browsed around and she decided to eat some 'lok lok' since it's raining at that time. I had never tried this stall out before. Yes, I had been to this back lane a few times with different girls and friends. lol~! We ordered around 12 sticks of food and it cost us RM16. The chilly sauce which they provide was really nice. Food wise was alright. Nothing spectacular but just alright. So we walked to the end of the stall and saw a lot of other food. There was this stall selling desserts including their famous ABC and Cendol (Chinese style). There was also this stall selling fried taufu which is quite famous. Further down were some char kuey teow and also pork noodle stalls. At the other end of the lane, you can find the famous porridge shop which is just next to the intersection. Trust me, you can't miss it, the uncle will kept on calling, Porridge, Porridge, Porridge. Opposite the shop is still famous Chee Cheong Fun stall and next to it is the Yau Char Kuey stall. Further down you can see the most famous stall selling their Fried Chicken. Yes, people queue to buy they fried chicken. Tried before, well let's just say it's different in a good way. So for those who like local delights, do drop by here and try it yourself.

The Truth Is Finally Out

I had asked and she was OK with it. So I presented Romiko with her birthday present today. What did I get for my girl this year? Well nothing fancy but something practical. What can I say, I am a practical type of guy. I had finally decided to get her a LeSportsac handbag. Surprisingly I had decided to get her a LeSportsac. I had a few choices in mind ranging from Braun Buffel's wallet to Lollipops bags to others accessories. But at the end I decided on this as it's something that she can use during work and also leisure. I had choose from a few sizes that they offer and decided to get this Deluxe Everyday Bag for her. Well let's just say that it's not too large and not too small. As usual the bad come with a mini bag for storage of the big one. Thanx again K-Bear who suggested the brand for me and MD for accompanying me to survey around.

Busy Corner Restaurant - Damansara Jaya

This is one of the place which served unconventional Claypot Chicken Rice in the market. The place is located in Damansara Jaya same row as the Petronas Station and behind KDU College. Yes, same row with all the cyber cafes. The name of the place is Busy Corner Restaurant. I had started visiting the place since 6 years ago. Yes, that long.
So this time around I had decided to bring Romiko and BQ over to try it out. So I had ordered my favourite dish which is the Thai Style Clay Pot Chicken Rice. Yes, Thai Style, which means it's a bit sour and a lot of onions. Not many people could accept the flavour but I like it. As it's different from the others that I had.
Next is the original Claypot Chicken flavour which the two like better than the first. Well I don't blame them. But for me it's just OK. So I ordered a small portion compared to the large which I ordered for the first claypot. lol~!
I had also ordered their Yau Mak which was alright. What is claypot chicken rice without some vegetables right? They do served soups and all but I wasn't in the mood for it that day. Other then the two flavours, they do offer Black Pepper and also Prawn (which is the most expensive). They claimed that they need to change their claypot every week due to the heavy cooking from the business they had. So you decided if it's really that nice. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)

Mirror

My old friends had called me up and invited me for a movie session on Friday night. The movie, Mirrors. Wasn't going in with high expectation as I thought that it's another cheap thrill suspense movie. But the movie was quite OK and acting wise was alright from Kiefer Sutherland.

The movie tells of an ex NYPD, Ben Carson (Sutherland) got a new job as a security guard in an abandon shopping mall, Mayflower. Things started to get strange after his first shift at night. Mysterious death started to happened to his sister, Angela (Amy Smart) and going to his wife, Amy (Paula Patton). So it's up to him to solve the mystery before he sees his family members die one by one. There are parts in the movie where it really scared the shit out of you (not me). The ending was quite unexpected anyway. Good movie to watch on a weekend with friends.

There is evil ... on the other side. That is the tag line for the movie. (Rating: 3.7 out of 5.0)

Finally Decided

I was going to Midvalley before gym to get something today. Finally decided what to get for my girl. It was a really close call and even I don't know what the hell I was getting for her till the very last second. There were so many choices. Thanx again for all the people who chipped in their ideas and time. And sorry for disturbing you guys with my ramblings. It was raining heavily when I left around 5.30pm.

Reached Consplant and joined Catherine's Body Balance. Only 4 members in the class last night. But it was alright. Continued with Jean's Yoga which was quite tough for me as she was preparing us for the split. And there's a lot of leg widening poses which I am weak at. Next was K-Bear's Body Combat class and LGM decided to joined us around track 3 is it? I wasn't there for the whole session as I was rushing for another engagement at 1Utama. So here's the final run down:-

  1. Ready 2 Go / Rock This Party
  2. Guitar Damage
  3. Magic Touch
  4. Zombie
  5. Don't You Wanna Feel
  6. Shut Up & Drive
  7. Party Non Stop
  8. U R My Phantasy
  9. Pump It
  10. Hero

Sorry K-bear to left your class half way. Anyway, it took me 13 minutes to reached 1Utama from Subang. Sweet~! Movie was good and we parted around 12.45pm.

I'm On Leave

I'm on leave today and I still woke up at 7am. Reason? My sis's ROM. Arrived early and took my breakfast over there. The whole ceremony only took 1 hours and due to the heavy downpour this morning, we were all trapped in the temple. Anyway, we managed to leave around 11am. So I decided to have some window shopping with my girl at Midvalley. Damn, the car park was so full and it's only half pass eleven. Don't anybody work anymore nowdays?

Finished browsing all the department stores at The Garden and called up BQ for lunch. Initially was planning to have my lunch at TTDI but the restaurant closed on every Thursday. Damn~!!! So I decided to have lunch at Busy Corner Restaurant at Damansara Jaya. Got home after that and rest for a while before headed to gym.

Meet with MD and we joined Jean's Yoga. Today's class was damn tiring. As MD was planning to get his PSP check, so we skipped Dynamic Flow tonight. The process took longer then we expected so we skipped Body Combat as well. haha~! CP, MD and me just looked from outside and the class tonight was an All Women class. Bathed and went for minum as usual. But we called it off early as I wanted to head home for dinner. Nice~!

Goodbye Girl, Hello Women

It was a big day for my sis today. Cause she's having her Registration of Marriage (ROM) today. So let me guide those who plan to get their ROM soon. First you need to get all your necessary documents ready before you meet with the commissioner oath. You need marriage registration documents, court documents, companies documents and others which they will specify later on. There is a florist next door if you didn't bring any flower that day.

Next you take a lot of pictures with your friends and relative who were there that day. Later you need to take a number from the Marriage Registration Office and wait for your turn. Your name will be posted up the wall for 1 week, if memory served me right. If no one objects, then both of you will be legally married. Both will register themselves off and acquired a certificate of marriage. So by now, it's already too late too say NO. LOL~! Both will take stand and take an oath in front of the witnesses. Best part of the ceremony, no it's not the 'you may kiss the bride yet'. It's the ex-change of wedding rings. Then you may kiss the bride. Take some photo under the nice background (which you paid RM99). And finally family photo session. Whole session took less than 1 hour. Nice~! See it's so simple to get married. But it's the wedding dinner which gives you the massive head ache.

PS: Just Wanna Say Congrat To My Dear Sis. Finally Someone Married You Also. haha~!!!

September Highlight #1

This is a preview of the restaurant which I'm gonna visit most probably early next month if there's no unexpected event that occur. I had mentioned this place since few months back if anyone still remembered. It's called Elcerdo. It's located at Changkat Bukit Bintang. From the feedbacks and blogs I read online, it's definitely a must try.

To Blog or Not To Blog?

We had always heard the word blog but where does the word came from? Well I Wiki the word (Yes, I'm that FREE) and found out that it's actually a contraction of the term Web Log. There is a lot of blog out there describing events, life style, interest, function, business and even personal online diaries.
For me, it's the latter. Someone once ask me, why do I blog that often? Is it becoming a routine for me? Well, the answer is yes and no. Yes, it's some sort of a routine for me nowdays and No, I can still survive without blogging each day. lol~! Let's just say that I am someone who like to share. Like my blog said, I blog on what I see, hear, know and what I think I know.

To blog or not to blog? Some of my friend blog when they had something special to inform or share. Well or me, I just like to blog on whatever happened each day in my life. Might be boring for some, but heck, it's my blog. haha~! Other then my normal routine, I do blog on food and hopefully gave anyone out there some ideas what's good and what's not.So how long will I still be blogging? 1 year, 2 or 5? Well, no one know. Not even me. I might be having more than one blog or I might even stop blogging by that time. But for now. You will still be seeing much of me and my stories in here. I know it's pain but like my friend once said, what don't kill you, makes you stronger~! Well in this case, what don't drive you insane, might just make you more sane. haha~!!!

What Is Done Is Done

It has been a nice day for me yesterday. Not much to fussed about like previously. But there is still something which is bugging me. Yes, the end of the month. Still figuring out how to let the bomb down to the office and especially my colleagues. No one in the office had any idea bout this. And all were so happy with the new sales coming in and all. But I am not regretting of what I had decided. Well let's just hope for the best now.

Ps: Yes~! Watching BC37 while writing this in my office. Damn~! Track 4 is a killer!!!

Tuesday, August 19

We Were Innocent

Since we're (MD & Me) waiting for dinner yesterday night with BQ. We decided to see if there's any class in IOI. Combat at 6.20pm with Crystal. What the heck, we did brought our gym stuff in the car already. So off we go for the class. Not a packed class but just alright. Saw Ann (she got her new car) and the SIFU in the class. Now I remember why I stopped joining her class. So here's the run down:-

  1. Apache Rocks The Bottom/Somebody Told Me
  2. Rock Da Floor
  3. Injected With A Poison
  4. Bagpipes
  5. Hymn
  6. Full Metal Jackass
  7. Jump
  8. Crescendos of Ecstasy
  9. War
  10. When Love & Hate Collides
Track two was really a stranger to us. As we never did or listen to it before, to my recollection anyway. But she got some really cute girls at the back shouting here and there. Another group of supporters. But surprisingly her crowd was less than Peggy. Surprisingly~!

Bumbu Bali - Bandar Puteri

So where do we decided to eat at the end? Well I decided Bumbu Bali Restaurant in Bandar Puteri. Yes, again. Well it's real good for one and the rest haven't tried it before. So I had asked BQ to joined me and MD for dinner. And one thing lead to another, QQ and Arianna was joining us at the end. Well like they said, the more the merrier.

As I don't wanna eat something that filling last night. So I had took the opportunity to try out their light snacks. So I had ordered their Crispy Chicken Bits. It's basically Crispy Chicken and french fries. But the chicken was really nice. And it's really a good combination of them both. There's also some chilly spices on the fries. Nice~! (RM10)MD had ordered their Sate Lilit (is it?). It's mixed seafood meat and they grilled it up and shoved it into 4 lemon grass sticks. Well according to MD, it's nice. There are two sauce for you to dip it into. One is the spicy chillies and the other one which is a mixture of onions, garlics and small chillies.

BQ had ordered their Chicken and Fries which is so large in portion. Well just imagine my set but for two. It was really filling from the look of her face that night. Arianna had their kid's meal. Which is not bad at all according to her. It's minced grilled chicken sandwich with fries. QQ just ordered one of their soup and start munching away on BQ's fries. haha~! We had a long talk on gym and yoga that night. Nice~! Should have another round of this dine and chat again soon. (Rating: 4.0 out of 5.0)

Sushi Groove - 1Utama

Was having a late lunch on Sunday with Romiko and finally she decided to eat at this place called Sushi Groove. I heard from MD that the place wasn't that nice. But then again, LP did said the place was quite alright. Well I put my money on my bro anytime. haha~! Anyway, since she'd insisted to dine here. What the heck. When we entered the place, it was quiet and we're the second customer in the whole restaurant. Not a good sign. Decoration was a bit old but still OK.

So we browse through the menu and saw the sushi was quite pricey for the combination type. So we had decided to ordered two separate ala-carte meals and one sushi roll. For myself I had ordered the Crispy Ginger Chicken on Rice. It's actually Tori Karage with Syogayaki Sauce. Well it's alright but the rice is a bit soft and too dry. Chicken was nice. But nothing Groovy bout it anyway. (RM14.90)Romiko had ordered their Yakiniku Bibimbab. Basically it's Japanese rice with beef, egg, paprika and cooked on hot nabe bowl with yakiniku sauce. The waitress came over and mixed the whole stuff together and the dish becomes a bit unappetizing. But well maybe the taste is good, right? Damn we're wrong. Romiko almost went to the ladies to vomit the whole meal off. Yes, it was that bad. (RM16.90)
The sushi roll which they recommended was called Hattori Hanzo Roll. It's chicken katsu (again) with a touch of cream cheese in spicy sauce. Need to emphasized again it's SPICY. So how they make it spicy, you asked? Extra Wasabi? NO! They put chilly sauce on it. Yes, you heard me right. My first time eating sushi with chilly sauce. Got a feeling this was a bad meal already to this extend. (RM8.90)

So what can I say? It's not gonna be my recommendation list for sure. Well maybe I would just warn my friends from a bad dinner at this place anyway. I am not sure bout the rest of the food. But from the three dishes which we had just tried, well let's just say, it's not the best I had. (Rating: 3.0 out of 5.0)

Too Fast Too Furious

For those who watched the LIVE match like I did, you know the result. For those whose not, we lose. And we lose quite bad. It was a straight match 21-12 and 21-9. Lin Dan from China beat Lee Chong Wei from Malaysia. Losing a game isn't that bad but the way the macth ended did. Well I am not sure but for me, it was quite fast. Fast as in the whole match ended. I be you will miss the match if you're travelling from PJ to Klang. The whole match lasted less than an hour. Lin Dan was totally in control of the whole match. He's into his usual form which is fast, accurate and furious. There were little mistake from his side whereas Lee Chong Wei did make a lot of unnecessary mistakes. During the second match, Lee was trailing as far as 9 point before Lin make a mistake and lose a point. It's a bad day for us but a Silver is still better than nothing right? At least the Silver cost RM300,000.Anyway, just wanna congratulate our national shuttler, who won and those whose not so lucky. They had tried their best, so we should congratulate them for that. It's not easy to stand in a court full of angry crowds who like to see you lose.

The Dark Knight

I was really going in the cinema with high hopes for this movie. As reviews and friends who watched it, gave some really good feedbacks. But I am afraid also if my expectation will be too high due to them. The movie which I am referring to is The Dark Knight. Yes, I just watched it tonight although it's been showing in the cinema for 3 weeks or so.

The movie started off quite well with the introduction of The Joker played by the late Heath Ledger. His acting was really good and different from the previous Joker played by Jack Nicholson. Both actor gave their own interpretation of the Joker differently. But I do prefer the first. This installment of the Batman series is a bit more darker than the previous episode. Where it's not just focusing in action and cool gadgets. But the story really tells how a psychophat thinks. The way Heath portrayed the character really blows me away. We don't see this from his previous movies.

Why do you think, I kept on talking bout him and not the main character, Batman played by Christian Bale. Well for me The Joker was the main character in the movie. Yes you heard me right. I really like this episode best of all the rest. Definitely a must watch movie for this year. It also cast people like Aaron Eckhard as Harvey Dent a.k.a Two Face. Here we see the transformation of a city hero into a blood thirsty killer seeking revenge on the death of his love interest, Rachel played by Maggie Gyllenhaal. The movie is 2hours and 30 minutes long. So better finish off your business in the toilet before you enter the cinema. As you will definitely glued to your seats the whole way to the end. Well I did anyway. (Rating: 4.7 out of 5.0)

PS: Thnx to LP again for booking the tickets.

How To Save Money

Since the price of life had just increased (like about 40%). I had compiled up or rather saw someone did it and wanted to share with all of you out there. So here goes:-

Shopping
- prepare a shopping list
- buy in bulk, but be sure to check if it is really cheaper than buying in individuals items
- avoid snacking during shopping trips;
bring your own water when shopping to avoid buying drinks when you shop

Food
- it's time to put your cooking skills to the test. A home cooked meal prepared with love sure beats gourmet dinning at five-stars restaurants
- economy rice is called 'economy' for a reason. Plus, there's no service or government tax imposed
- bring your own water when eating out if it is possible
- cut down on snacks, it's good for your wallet and your health

Transport
- opt for public transport such as buses, Monorail, LRT or even KTM when situation allows.
- plan your journey and time to avoid getting stuck in traffic jams
- cycle or walk to nearby destinations, it's good for your health too
- carpool with friends and colleagues or in my case gym-mates

Entertainment
- Movies, find out which cinemas offer cheaper rates and take advantage of special offers (such as cheaper tickets for women in Wednesday at some cinemas), students and senior citizen discounts.
- swap DVDs and VCDs with friends, so you can enjoy your favourite movies without burning a hole in your pocket.
- instead of buying DVDs, check out free-to-air TV, which gives pay TV a run for its money with their interesting programmes.

Others
- keep track of your spending. Set a budget and stick to it
- do not overfeed your pet (this goes to your bf/gf). Too many treats could cause obesity.

Well I hope that some of the suggestions above do help you in some way or gives you some ideas how to save and cut down on your spending.

Kickin Hard Friday Night

I had lunch with MD after sending my car to a nice wash up. Went to Midvalley short after that as we need to make it back for gym later. For those who know why I am there, good. For those whose not, well let's just called it market survey.
So later I suggested to go for a drink at Alexis. I haven't tried out this outlet as I had already been to their other two outlets in Bangsar and Jalan Ampang. But this place was nice and comfy.

We left before 5pm to beat the jam. Skipped Catherine's Body Balance as my body was still aching from the Dynamic Flow. But I joined in K-Bear's Body Pump and although my body was aching but I wasn't that struggling during the class. Strange. The class wasn't as tough as I imagined it (glad!). Warm up was really nice. Continued with the squats track which I like a lot. Some Deja Vu tracks here and there. But K-Bear wasn't herself missing some cues. But no harm done, class was good. Continued with Body Combat and here's the night's playlist:-

  1. Listen To Your Heart / Trouble
  2. Kickin' Hard (requested by yours truly~!)
  3. Piece of Heaven (nice song, can karaoke!!!)
  4. Sexy (requested by yours truly again!!)
  5. Girlfriend (yes, me again)
  6. Hung Up (head was turning when they heard the song. haha~!)
  7. Hardcore Paradise (me again~!)
  8. Back in The U.K (Nice~!)
  9. Here I Come (Requested by the Lil Princess)
  10. Because of You (What else do you expect after all the butt tracks??)

FYI, I didn't go requesting all the songs but was asked for suggestions. LOL~! Went for a quick minum session as it was quite late already. Got home and mom reserved some portion of the stew pork for me. Yes~! I know, late dinner, fattening food, who cares. Tho who don't eat their mom's cooking, is not a good son~! haha!!!

The Final Hurdle

Was in the gym when I heard from a member in the locker that our national player, Lee Chong Wei had made it to the finals of the game. He had managed to take down South Korean Lee Hyun-il 21-18, 13-21, 21-13 in the semi-finals. Making him the second M'sian to win a medal in the Olympics. And he could make history as the first to win a Gold medal tomorrow (Sunday) 8.48pm if he could over come World No.1, Lin Dan. As he simply puts it: “I’ll play with my life.” Fingers cross~!
