I was driving to work as usual today and while I was making a right turning I saw something odd. Let me again describe the scenario at that moment. There is one Perodua Kancil park at the side of the road. Two men are car jacking the car while I am driving pass them. Yup in broad day light. One guy looks like a mechanic with a long metal bar trying to get the side cover off the window.
I saw this before, it's to unlock the car from outside. And the other guy was there looking and helping the other guy out. So thoughts come flying through my head. Do I stop and honk them? They might be trying to steal the car. Or should I just let them be (which I did) as the mechanic might really be a mechanic and was trying to help the poor man who accidentally left his car keys in the car? Cause logically, thief wouldn't car jack a car 1) in broad day light and 2) a Perodua Kancil? Come on la. They can do better than that.
But we Malaysian tends to just think the better one and just drove off. No hassle and doesn't really need to trouble oneself. Even if you heard a car alarm at night the first thought that came into your head would be some idiot accidentally press the wrong button or the over sensitive alarm got triggered by someone passing by. Why do we think that? Cause we're all very optimistic, we don't like to think of the worst case scenario. Cause if we do so, then we need to go over and check and what if it's really a car theft? Then will they hurt us? Will I need to give a police report? Will I need to go to court? So many images come flying through the head from a very small alarm sound.
So bottom line, am I doing the right thing? Or should I do the right thing? Or what is the right thing to do?

6 Octopus:
push the horn button...then drive fast and call police....
will try to do that but scare later he throw the metal bar at my car la~ kekeke~!
thats why i told you....horn then drive very very fast....i dun think they can throw far...
I think I need to drive 500m only honk. Theoretically a metal bar cannot travel that far. kakaka~ lame joke~!!!
Funny I was thinking something similar... I was driving behind a motorcyclist who was a bit flimsy, I was thinking if he fell, do I want to get down to help him? Then again, what if he purposely do that and his partners in crime rob me while I tried to help?? Sigh... Just can't trust anyone now a days. And for us ladies, there's nothing much we can do. We must first think of our own safety, unfortunately.
TTB: Very true~ The same applies to us guys too. I mean if really we got bang from behind, we still need to check who bang us and the situation at that time. We too scare got caught off guard.
My lady friend and her sister's car got a flat tyre at the highway and a motorcycle stop and one of the guy came over to ask what's the problem and offer to help while the other guy was opening the other side door to take their bags. But luckily someone shouted at them and they just got off empty handed. Super dangerous ... !!
