This is the second CNY movies which I watched during the holiday. And I would say that this is the better one compared to the first which I watched, All Wells, Ends Well 2010. This is a remake of the original movie from the 80s and the latter is some sort of an annual movie. Don't get me wrong, I like AWEW, as the movie starred my favorite comedian like Louise Koo, Roland Cheng and Sandra Ng. But the story line is a bit outrageous and over for me. And they didn't managed to focus on each individual that much. This is the down side of the movie for me.
Let's get back to the 72 tenants movie now. This movie starred more than 100 over actors and actresses from HK. I too worried as there were too many famous faces in the movie like AWEW but luckily it doesn't. The main actors are Jacky Cheung, Eric Tsang and Anita Yuen. It's a love triangle story that ended with Eric marrying Anita and left Jacky heart broken all these years. Now both the party feud continues to their offspring. Both of them operates mobile phone shop opposite to each other. From the beginning you can see the movie is sponsored by SE all the way with their phone being paraded the whole movie (Aino is waterproof???). Like all movies, the feudal finally ended with both families spouses being together. There were tons of funny moments in the movie where I laugh my ass off in the cinema. Definitely worth my time and money on this movie. Lets just say that I would watch it again if anyone wanted me to accompany them. (Rating: 4.0 out of 5.0)
