Boosting The Economy

Went to Pavilion today as Tang's was having a mega sales over there. Initial plan was to check out the Onitsuka Tiger over there. So once arrived, straight away walk over to Tangs and checking out the shoe but unfortunately they do not have the size for the one which I had interest on. Sigh~!

Is this too girly? But I do like the color and the tiger at the back is so cool. They have sizes for this shoe. So anyone interested can go and try it out.

Unfortunately the one for guy is less attractive (my opinion) and they do not have any size other than 6 and 12. Sigh~!

Spent 5 hours and a half in Pavilion today and I didn't even reached the top floor and stepping into Parkson. What a long shopping spree we had today. Master T was nearby so we had a drink at Kopitiam with Jac and Amanda. I managed to get myself a shirt for my sister's coming wedding day and a V neck from Zara. The top spender for the day goes to my babe who got herself lots of sportswear from Puma, Adidas and Reebok. It's all so cheap. Both of us spent close to RM500 for the whole day. I guess we really do boost some economy today. LOL!!!

Restaurant Good Time @ Bandar Puteri

After a long shopping at KL the whole day it was time for dinner. So decided to try out this place in Bandar Puteri which served steamboat buffet. Since it's raining the whole evening so steamboat should be the best dinner. It's located across the street from Public Bank.

Saw my favorite fast food while scouting around the bar, french fries. It's hot, soft and salty. They also served fried wanton and also other tit bits for appetizer while waiting for the water to boil.

This is one of the tit bits which really worth mentioning, pandan chicken. It's wrapped with pandan leave and once unwrapped come this juicy succulent pandan flavoured chicken. Damn it's really nice.

Over here they served fried chicken wings which I tried and tasted not that bad. At least you don't need to fight for your wings over here.

OK, now for the best part of the steamboat. They served inductive type steamboat and also the conventional carcoil type. So I opted for the latter. Don't worry, they will heat the charcoil up before they served to you.

There is three type of soup over here, which are Tom Yam, Herbal and also Fish Head. We choose the fish head and also herbal. I like the fish head as there is also sea weed and also salted vegetables in the soup together with some sliced fish. Nice~!!!

They served the usual dishes which you can see in any other buffet steamboat restaurant but over here it's a bit more fresher. As they will changed or chilled the food once in a while.

Like the pork balls and also the mixed pork intestine balls. I think I ate more than 15 altogether. Damn full at the end of the meal.

Other then all those meat there are also varieties of fresh vegetables to choose from.

Here is my favorite section which served the fried stuff. Yes, I know it's weird eating this at a steamboat restaurant. But I like it, so what the heck.

They have two fridge full of ice cream of your desire. So no long queues and plenty of ice cream to choose from. But no Hagen or Baskin over here. LOL!

Altogether there are over 100 foods to choose from the two long bar. The food is always replenish by the staffs. I like the service really much.

Food is plenty, fresh and clean. No long queues and service is good. Tables are sufficient and organized. Quite a good place for a gathering or a dinner with friends. The price for the buffet is RM19.80++ per head. Definitely an alternative for me from Yuen Steamboat. But there are a few more buffet steamboat around the area. Will try to test it out in the future. Weng Hing Pork Noodle @ Imbi

This has got to be one of my favorite pork noodle house. It's located at Jalan Imbi opposite the Honda showroom. Decided to pay the place a visit as I was going to Pavilion for shopping today. The place was packed when I arrived around 11am.

As usual, ordered myself a loh shi fun pork noodle with extra lard. When I say extra they really covered the whole noodle with pork. Believe me, underneath all those lard are some noodles too.

This is the sliced pork (Sum Kang Chong). I am not so fancy on these but nevertheless, I finished it up without any complaint.

Other then the pork noodle stall, other stall worth mentioning is the Char Keoy Teow and Egg Tart in front. At night, there is a Hokkien noodle stall outside which is really famous. So do come over in the morning for their pork noodle or Hokkien noodle at night if you're craving for some nice local food. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)

Stupid Stupid Jam

I can't imagined those people who stuck in the jam each and everyday for hours in the morning going to work. Oh wait, I have. And two days in a row. OMFG!! Last Thursday I was stuck in the jam for one hour. It was from Kinrara to Menara Axis using Old Klang road. So on Friday we thought that we came out half and hour early to beat the jam. But we were stuck in the jam for one and a half hour. WTF??!!!! I can really FEEL the tension and also frustration of my friends now. But luckily my work hour is quite flexible and I wasn't in a hurry. But still the feeling of being stuck in the car for hours. Stupid fark~!!!

Thought to skipped step class as I am doing too much cardio classes and there was a bit of pain on my left ankle. So waited for K-Bear's pump class and placed my board at the back. Must low profile now days. LOL! No worries, you can still hear me singing at the back dear. It was a good work out as usual. Continued with combat which was really funny as all of us was really having fun mocking each other. LOL! Chat and bath before headed to our usual hang out spot and continued our gossiping, I mean networking. Got home and continued my drama till 3am. Nice!

What A Small World Pt.3

P.J is definitely a very small place and we can bump into anyone now days. So what happened to me today? Well, I was out having lunch with an old friend in TTDI when I saw a familiar face walking from the back of the restaurant. TTB!! Yes, I saw you dear and quickly wave a bit to you. I think your colleague noticed that when she gave me a why-is-this-crazy-guy-waving-at-me look. She was coming to this place having with her colleague and since the place is full, I had offered my table to them. Such gentleman ler. LOL!!! Found out that she work in the same building as my friend and just two floors apart. What a small small world. : )

It was raining super heavy late afternoon. Decided to do some last minute banking and rush over to RSH for the warehouse sales. Thought of getting a shoe bag for my babe but unfortunately it's out of stock. But my visit wasn't all for nothing, as I managed to get myself two shirts. Wasn't able to make it for Jean's class as I was a bit late so decided to roamed around Summit. Master T's class was very enjoyable as always. Did some old tracks and some last minute request. After class had our usual minum session or should I say makan tonight. Still raining when we left, should be a nice slumbering sleep tonight. : )

What A Small World Pt.2

I was down Melaka yesterday to meet up with one of my client. Actually this project had been quoted over to them since 2004 and they finally decided to go ahead with the proposal now. Talk about slow management. Anyway, I went down with my colleague and arrived at the client place around 11am. Went in and introduced myself to the guy in charge of the project. He then introduced us to his Managing Director, who he claimed has the say in this issue. Well anyway, it's not the first time that we meet the top management anyway. So what the heck.

In walk a man with white hair and glasses. Damn he looked familiar. OMG! He's my uncle. Talk about small world. He didn't recognized me at first but he recalled my name and called out to me. He is my mother's older sister's husband. We're not to say that close as we only meet once each year during CNY. But heck, he still remember me. Good news? Anyway, finger cross. Hopefully this deal will materialize soon. The first proposal was nearly 5 years ago and it waited till now to continue, I think it's a sign. LOL!!!

Chung Hwa Chicken Ball Rice @ Melaka

Was craving for some Hainan Chicken Ball rice and where is the best place to have it? Melaka of course. So I drove down to have my lunch over at Chung Hwa in Melaka. OK, a bit dramatic. The truth is, I have a meeting down at Melaka and decided to have my lunch over at Chung Hwa. It was not as unhygienic as some of my friends had described to me. The place was organized and clean.

Walk over and told the boss, "Tauke, Pe Qui Phua Chiak, No Ge Lang". OK, for those who doesn't know Hokkien (or don't understand what I translated even if you know Hokkien) it means, Boss, Half Steamed Chicken Rice for two pax. LOL!!

The steamed chicken was really soft and juicy. Just the way it should be.

One plate of rice consists of 5 rice balls. We had ordered a second later on. I am OK with the texture of the rice but my boss like his balls to be harder (no pun intended).

Was looking for some thick soya sauce to go with my ball rice but was told that they don't have it. Gosh~! Wasted~! Can't really enjoy my rice ball or chicken rice without thick soya sauce. Production was good as balls were seen coming out from the kitchen and customers started to poured in during lunch hour.

Overall it's a nice lunch to have and not that expensive too. The whole lunch cost us RM21.60 inclusive of drinks and extra 10 rice balls. Can see a few Japanese girls ordering the dish and taking some shots at it. During holidays or weekends, the place is so packed that we can't even find a place to sit. The place is located at the end of Jonker Street near to the bridge next to the Red Post Office building. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)

Lunch With An Old Friend

It's nice meeting up with some old friends for lunch once in a while. And today is the day. We work quite near to each other but we didn't really have the chance to meet up and have lunch or a drink after work once. Sean is an old friend of mine since secondary school. We're like super good buddies during school time. And after graduation and work started for both of us, we seemed to drifted further apart due to personals commitments and life. He just become a father 3 weeks ago. I know you read my blog sometimes, so if you're reading this, just wanna congratulate you again in here.

Was supposed to pick up my SIL from tonight till Friday but make a last minute adjustment and I was managed to slipped into Brian's Step class before it started. His class can really bring your mood up and really makes me push myself to the max. It's the motivation and the power he brings. That's why I still rush for his class although it's so damn early. Sue is in Thailand doing her quarterly over there so it was someone else who replaces her class tonight. Sorry, didn't catch his name. Some really unfamiliar tracks hence the tough work out. Biceps were a killer. I don't know why but the bar felt so heavy tonight. Continued with Master T's Combat class which turn out to be a full house tonight. Yes, it's proven that doing combat with a gloves adds more Oomph to it. LOL~!!! Had a long chat during minum session with MD joining us half way. Called it off early as I need to wake up early later for my Malacca trip with my boss.

Malaysian's Driver Pt.1

Had some close encounter this afternoon while going for my appointment. NO! Not those Ah Piow encounter but car to car kissing action. I was driving to BU toll and as normal I will just drive smoothly following the car in front of me (Smart Tag ma). There was this red old jeep in front of me and I, like normal, was following him and out of a sudden I felt that the jeep wasn't moving at all. WTF??!!! I quickly step on my break hard. And so was the car at the back which maneuvered to the other lane as not to hit me. WTF is the front car doing? I found out that he was making sure that the car in front of him passed clear through the gate and only started to move. WTF!!! He didn't even realized what happened at the back. I was hoking him and he was just selamba driving so slow even after the gate. WTH??!!!! Speechless!!!

Managed to make it for Riyo's Step class tonight. One thing I found out from the class. Although the members are quite veterans but there is not much mood in the class or power. Cannot compared to Brian's class on Tuesday. No shouting, no screaming no nothing. I was the only one shouting and some started to follow and that's it. Sad~! Continued with Master C's Combat class and as usual damn pack. Doing something similar to the old track he said, are you sure bro? haha! But it was a good class. Sorry for the muay tai but you know my style lor hor. Continued with K-Bear's Pump class which I had requested quite a few numbers of tracks. It's not that tough right? Biceps track wasn't that tough la dear. And I thought that you were gonna do Let Me Entertain You. Nevertheless, your class will always be that tough. hehe!

Welcome To The FF Family My Dear

Finally my babe had decided (or rather I decided to let her) join Fitness First. I just need to make sure she will really go for the classes and not just join one or two classes a week. Must let her know the spirit of BKP. LOL!! Found out that the fees for passport and home had increased since last year. Passport holder now is paying a monthly fees of RM185 while home RM175. She had opted for the first. So I had called up the Taiko of KBT to help her during the enrollment last Friday. Who else but our own CP. Thanks again CP for the help.

So after joining the gym I had decided to get her some apparels. So we went to the usual N and A shop to survey around. Finally she set her eye on a pair of new N series pants. As for me, I decided to get myself a training gloves for my pump class (finally!!). Heard that RSH is having a sales this coming weekday, will drop by and get her something. But I doubt I will find something at RSH sales. So there will be another new member to the BKLTL group already. But most of the time she'll be going to KBT for classes, so CP, help me to keep an eye on her. LOL!!!

And I Thought It Was Gonna Be Special??

Tonight was special as I am not at Consplant but The Curve. Reason was K-Bear wasn't teaching tonight (See la, I so give face to you. LOL!). So first class was pump class by Herny and another instructor from Singapore. Definitely not as tough as my usual Friday night class but still a good work out. Next was the class I was waiting for, which is combat. Another special class as Janice and Peggy were team teaching with Renee.

Class started with a big laugh when 3 of the instructors forgot to bring their iPod. So Peggy ran to the locker and get hers. The theme for the night was rock. And so rock it was the whole track list or rather a whole lot of Deja Vu from last Friday class. You see what I mean when you scroll down to the playlist. I was hoping that they will do the new release but anyway it was a fun but not that exhausting class.

This is one hell of a GXM from HK. Heard that she's the regional GXM for HK. Wasted that I didn't joined the attack class earlier.

Sick Anyone?

Why is everyone getting sick now days? Is it the weather or is it the economy that causes this epidemic. OK, it's a bit too dramatic to say that it's an epidemic. MD is out due to HFM, K-Bear got some strange unknown allergy, my girl is having sore throat and mild fever and the list goes on. No wonder pharmaceutical sector is doing so well.

Anyway, was really busy with work this week. A few problem to be sorted out and managed to settled it today or most of it anyway. Not sure to join any classes or not tonight but since so many friends did ENCOURAGE me to go (in FB) so there I was doing Jean's yoga class. I think her class is getting more and more members by the day. My injured left ankle is giving some slight pain while my left elbow is having the usual pain during the class. I really need ot get my supplements now. Continued with Master T's class and damn the class was packed tonight. Where does all the members come from? Thank You For The Memories~!

Was too tired to blog bout my dinner yesterday and too busy to do it today morning. So just wanna make this short and thanx everyone from BKLTL group of members for the dinner. Especially MD for organizing this and BQ for booking the place. Although I didn't have to pay for the dinner but on behalf of the others who did, thanx to CP and Guan Teck who has the discount card for the place. Was happy to see that KNSQ could make it for the dinner and David too since I or we rather didn't meet you for so long. The last outing was end of last year during BQ's birthday and you didn't make it for MD's birthday early this year. Most of the members were sick or ill but all of us did have fun and we went for second round at Friendster with Master C joining us. Thanx again bro for dropping by. Last but not least, thanx again all for the pre-birthday celebration.

What A Small World

I was chatting with Precious Pea this afternoon and during the conversation she asked me where I'm from. Well I told her I'm from Mentakab and what do you know, she's from Mentakab too, what a small world. Although she didn't spend much time growing up from there but it's nice to know that we're from the same kampung and her house was so near to mine. By the way, all the best in your future undertaking and best wishes to you. Hope to hear lots of your new adventure over there. Finger cross, right? : )

Was planning to join Riyo's Step class but some appointment came out during the last minute and I couldn't make it. Master C's class was so damn pack tonight. Luckily came in early and managed to secured a spot before Malaysia Idol came in. Lots of major Deja Vu tonight. Continued with K-Bear pump class and I can say that my stamina is definitely back for good. At the end of the class, got a present from The TeaRoom Lady, her Valentine Special Cupcake. Trust me, it's as good as it's look. I am munching it now as I speak or blogging now. Confirm from our personal pharmacist, KNSQ that K-Bear got some minor allergy. Better get a shot and it will clear off by tomorrow dear.

Tenji Japanese Buffet Restaurant @ Solaris Mount Kiara

This is my 4th visit but first dinner over at Tenji. The booking was for 12 pax at 6pm but the guy on the phone had made a mistake and only booked a table for 6 pax for us. So the staff were looking for extra table for us. The final count was 9 at the end and we maanged to get our table at the end of the corridor near to the toilet. We don't mind the distance as we wanted to get a feel of the out door experience and enjoy the scenery while we eat .

Food was not to say that different from the lunch buffet that I had before. Coconut is still the same, where we need to wait for a while for them to replenish the stock, which I had 8 tonight. Was disappointed that we didn't see any soft shell during dinner time. It was available during lunch. Sushi wan't that much of a choice compared to Jogoya but I am not a sushi lover so no complaint over there. The rest should be around the same and there wasn't any special VIP dishes tonight as they are doing some promo of stuff. So even though my friend is a VIP, we didn't get any special dish like Jogoya have.

What I did see was an additonal grilled lamb stall outside. There were a long queue of people waiting for their piece of meat. But nothing special to me as I had tried this during my first visit. The variaty of food wasn't that much and the quality of their food isn't as good as the time I visited the first time. Some of my friend did say that they preferred Jogoya. So it all depends on individual, but for me it's a dinner well paid as we had only paid RM67nett for the whole dinner. This is because the birthday boy is a VIP and he used his cash voucher all together. So just wanna say thanks again to Hor and wishes him a Happy Birthday.

Oriental Craving @ 1Utama

Was walking around 1Utama with my brother's family when we decided to eat at Oriental Craving. This had got to be one of my brother's favourite restaurant in 1U. It's located at the same floor as Lacoste and Ralph Lauren.

There is a lot of old pictures hanged on the wall which gave you a feel of nostalgic. The ambiance is really nice and quiet as it is located at the furthers corner of the building.

Pork Curry with Steamed Rice. It's recommended by my brother and you have to ask if they have it as they don't have it everyday. Basically it's nasi lemak with pork curry. Pork curry was nice and the peanuts and anchovies is still crispy. Other then the curry it's just a normal nasi lemak.

Claypot Loh Shee Fun cooked with minced pork and diced musroom. Sadly to see that the fresh egg was not intact when they brought it over that time. But it's one of the better dish over there. It's not as good as Mama Claypot @ TTDI but still a decent good pot of loh shee fun.

Rice Wine Chicken Mee Sua. The dish availability is based on the availability of the homemade wine. So better ask if you want to order this dish. There is a lot of ingrediets in the soup which consists of chicken, omelette, musroom and vegetables. The amount of chicken was really generous and the scent and taste of the rice wine was really strong. Must try for wine lover.

Claypot Emperor Noodle. It's basically emperor noodle cooked with prawns, squid, pork slices, button mushroom, dried Chinese mushroom, Chinese cabbage and egg. Well to me it's Ying Yong with Emperor Noodle. I am not a Cantonese style lover so not much I couldn't say bout this dish.

Overall our lunch was nice and the service is good too. You should know by now that the place served non-halal food and it's not easy to find a non-halal restaurant inside 1Utama. So if you're looking for lard cook dishes, you can have a try over at Oriental Craving. The whole meal cost us RM60++ inclusive of 3 glasses of Chinese tea. Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0

Lost Boy Back In Town

Finally I managed to settled all my appointments today and came back to KL this afternoon. Overall it was a good trip as I managed to meet 90% of my customers while I was there. A few couldn't managed to contact them but maybe on my next visit next month. Most probably be traveling every month to Johor from now. Yes, it's a tiring job but it comes with the job description.

Got home clean up and finished up my report for the week. Settled all my work as I got dinner reservation this weekend at Tenji, YES!!! Went over Consplant for my usual Friday evening class. JJ's step class was as usual a warm up for me but was all pump up during the last power track. K-bear did some unfamiliar tracks tonight. I guess she wanna be not so predictable, is it? :P Even her Combat tracks were unfamiliar and weird too. Yes, I do mean the muay tai track dear.

Kedai Kopi Tian Hoong @ Salak Saouth Garden

Was heading back to KL from my business trip down South. Passed Sg. Besi toll and was thinking what to eat and Roast Pork pop in my head. Where else but my favourite Roast Pork shop, Tian Hoong at Salak South Garden.

Ordered my usual half fat half lean with extra pork sauce. Yes, you can ask for extra for the pork sauce as it's really nice and sweet. Very appetizing. As you can see I always ask for the end/tip part of the roast pork as it's the most juiciest and delicious to eat. RM6.50/plate

The roast pork over here is not the same as Soong Kei which is soft but like I mentined earlier, I like my pork with a bit of texture so that I can really sink my teeth into it and let the lean and fat meat combined with sweet honey sauce swim inside my mouth and tounge. Yes, occassionally you will get some sticky part sticking into your teeth as I ordered the end part which is a bit burnt. But I like my pork that way.

This is the Taiko cum owner of the shop. Didn't managed to get his name but it's good that he's up front as he will normally roast the pork and let his two sons take care of the cutting and chopping part.

Other then roast pork they do sell steam chicken and siew yuk. But most of the customers came purposely for their roast pork. For me it's still the No.1 roast pork in whole K.L, be it Meng Kee, Soo Kee or Spring Golden. Better be there around 1pm as the roast pork will be ready and fresh from the kitchen by that time.

Chez Papa French Bistro - Johor

Was driving around town looking for a good place for dinner when I saw this small restaurant next to the busy road of Tebrau. It's called Chez Papa French Bistro. Was attracted by the sign board and my interest in European cuisine.

I had always wanted to try out a French cuisine but never had the chance. Interior decoration was really warm and quiet. Some old french Broadway songs being played at the back ground.

You can see so many olive oils and herbs all around the restaurant. Was greeted by a waitress who offer to show me their special for the day. And guess what, one of their special for the day was their foir gras. Yes, it's serving at RM64/70grams.

Once seated in house bread was served with some cheese. The bread was so fresh and so crunchy. Nice~!

Soupe des Bois. It's actually home made musroom soup. This is what I call a real musroom soup. After tasting this, I don't think that I can sip another bowl of mushroom soup elsewhere. (RM9)

Escargots a la Bourguignonne. Snails baked with traditional French way with garlic, butter and pasley. I won't miss a chance to order escargot when I see one. Ordered half a dozen to try it out. Fresh and juicy. Really like the combination of the garlic, butter and pasley with lotsa olive oil. RM18/half a dozen

When I saw the equipments before the escargot was served, I know these guys know what they are serving over here. Boy with his silverware playing around all night.

As you can see, the escargot was so fresh and juicy with lots of pasley and butter wrapping around it. Juicy!!!

Before the main dish was served, was told that they had another side of the restaurant which served liquor and wines. They called it the wine room and wine is what they have. The ambiance was so nice and nice. Imagine dining and sipping your favourite wine under this ambiance.

I can see wine everywhere. They have god knows how many wine chiller and racks. There are wine list of over 80 world class wines, over 20 different types of imported beers and international cocktail menu. They also served tapas such as homemade sausages, smoked salmon canapés, charcuterie platters, cheese boards and more

Entrecote oux Poivrex. This is my main for the night, Chez papa's signature sirloin steak with a fresh pepper cream sauce served with baked potato. I like my meat medium well and that is what I got. Damn the meat was so nicely cooked that I was really amazed. The black pepper on top was a nice touch as it mixed with the pepper sauce and the red meat. What missing is a good wine to go with the steak. RM45

Was lucky to be able to meet with the head chef of the place, and no his name is not Papa. The chef of the restaurant is Dominique Muller. He was born in Colmar, France and trained as a Chef in Nice. He has been around the world, working at Le Souffle in London and Maxim de Paris in Singapore among others.

I was really satisfied with the whole dinner and there wasn't anything that I can complain bout the food or the place. Simply nice. And by the time I was leaving the place started to be packed. Even the bistro next door was packed with patrons. (Rating: 4.0 out of 5.0)
